I don't. I said i wouldn't knowingly/purposely lower them. However they do eventually fall below and wben i eventually check them i put them back to what they should be.

But that's my question You originally said you like to keep them constant so you know what to expect in a slide if I understood you correctly. But then if I'm reading the above correctly you don't notice they have dropped until you check them which is the opposite to your original position. I'm confused

Only a quick wash yesterday in poor light and rain but the bike looks like it's come up a treat.

I think winter will finish off the chain and sprocket. I'm on about 11,500 miles so I reckon it'll be about the 13,000 mark when I change them, which isn't too bad for an OEM chain.

What do you do currently to the chain? clean and lub wise?

Normally I use the SDOC100 products. Gel cleaner, dry lube then when dry a little white wax on top. I didn't have time yesterday so I skipped the dry lube.

Yesterday I tried the WD40 chain cleaner. It's ok but not as effective as the SDOC stuff and I had to use more of it, so it's not as cost effective.

I like the WD40 chain products. the lube is brilliant and I like the chain cleaner. I clean about 10 links at a time with a green gremlin chain cleaning tool thing (AKA grunge cleaner) and give it a wipe down with a cloth - chain looks new after every clean and it only takes about 20 minutes to do so I found myself doing it quite often throughout summer.

I need to do it again soon but this time I'll coat it with wax instead of lube to keep better over winter. That said I'll probably get a new chain next year anyway as I'd imagine the Aluminium rear sprocket is pretty worn. I'll be getting a -1 front sprocket too
