Sympathies to your mom and family Rich. Take solace in the fact his pain is over.

Re: That C word again
So saddened to hear this Kwacky, please pass on our best wishes to all your family.
Despite knowing it's coming it still hits everyone very hard. As mentioned, at least he was in a place of his choosing with family beside him at the end, that helped my Dad no end when we lost him.

Thanks all.
It's a nice way to go. I'm glad he didn't suffer too much. Everyone seems a bit lost at present.

Re: That C word again
It's Ron's funeral next Tuesday. I've said I'll give a speech.
Sam had a proper sob last night. It dawned on her she'll never see her dad again. Nothing I could do but hold her. Poor thing was sobbing so much she was going weak, I had to hold her up. Poor thing.

Oh Jesus, just reading this made me well up, as it brought back the feelings of my dad's funeral, as you say the strangest things even unrelated can have an affect. I hope you guys celebrate his life on Tuesday, looking back on the joyful and funny moments, can soften the blow of all the tears.
I must admit I was amazed how much liquid my eyes actually produced!!! lol.... All the best to you all on this most difficult of times.

Re: That C word again
A nice send off. Well over 100 people attended his funeral, including mates from when he served in the RAF out in the Far East.
The staff at the club counted more than 130 people.
I managed to do my reading without cracking. I waited until I got back to my seat before blubbing.
