Re: Top Gear Fans
He'll either be back so soon, or retirement beckons. I can't see him just retiring quietly from the show, he'll have to leave in a blaze of something or other.

Re: Top Gear Fans
Though I suspect he isn't employed by the BBC at all, no responsible company would either employ or contract anyone who had assaulted a member of their staff.
The BBC however have shown themselves to be anything but a responsible company over the last 40 off years.
Time Clarkson was put out to pasture IMHO. He's a relic from a long gone age.

Re: Top Gear Fans
I would agree and I believe he was supposedly on a final warning for racist comments in the past.
Top Gear grosses over £300 million a year for the beeb. If they let him go like they did with Jonathan Ross ultimately it is the bbc that would suffer the most.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying special rules should apply to him but this must be what senior BBC officials are thinking.
If he does get sacked and retire the biggest losers could be Hammond and May who don't deserve any of this.

Re: Top Gear Fans
personally i think top gear could work without him ,its become a watered down comedy show the last few years anyhow
it was good when they were doing epic road trips and reviewing decent cars but its just lost its way now.Clarkson hates motorbikes and cyclists so fook him and his ego

Agreed. Not having that food ready should be at the least instant dismissal and a beating.Kwacky wrote:That's instant dismissal in any job, surely?

Re: Top Gear Fans
JC has been supposedly offered mega money to jump ship and join sky over the years but he's always chosen to stay with the beeb. I'm grateful for that as he could easily have sold out years ago and i don't have sky! Top Gear, for all its many faults, is fairly entertaining and I would miss it! I would welcome its return to being a bit more ahout the car (or bike) though and Chris Harris would be a great addition imo but I read somewhere he doesn't want the job.

I think Clarkson's contract is up soon anyway, so that's probably the best way out for everyone.

unless you are a politician in which case you can punch a member of the public live on TV and you then get a peerage .Kwacky wrote:That's instant dismissal in any job, surely?

Re: Top Gear Fans
Love him in all fairness. Yes he says things that angers so.e people but he doesn't just give in and be a person he should be just because he's paid by a multi million pound organisation he is still who he is and for that I respect him. I watched on Facebook this morning where May said he thinks Clarkson is a nob but he actually quite likes him. I think this is precisely why people like him, he doesn't just bow down.
Top gear would become crap, it would be fifth gear only on BBC and for that I wouldn't even bother watching it. So in my opinion he should be reinstated. If not then don't bring back the show. Let it go down in the history books as a great telly program not as a crap pile!

Re: Top Gear Fans
I like him. I dont care if he is a bully or racist or whatever people call him. He knows who he is and sticks to it. At least he is not a primped up fake.
Top gear just died. Only need Attenbourough to die now and there will be zero reason to pay the licence fee
Can of worms for the beeb this is
