I should imagine that we're just barely skimming the surface in terms of the atrocities that have come to light so far.... and many if not most, will never be acknowledged.

Russian state news is admitting to killing POWs so you the stuff they're trying to hide is going to be pretty grim.

The discussion on Twitter was between Russian speakers. They all said that RT was confirming the death of the prisoners.

I'm just meaning the term used for the death of the Ukrainian deserters was "liquidation"... that to me scream acid bath so was wondering if it was a likely translating error

There's no mention of how they died, just that they were executed. I presume shot. There's lots of photos of profile with their hands behind them with a bullet in their head. Army and civilian.

Liquidation, extermination, elimination, etc. - all just more clinical, detached terms for killed, murdered, etc - things like that.

There's a big battle going on near Barvinkove, according to Russian sources. That's in between Mariupol and Kharkiv. If the Russians can take that centre ground then it makes it easier for them to control the east. There's two large roads between the two Russian controlled areas so they would be able to deal with their supply issues.

Ukraine troops have pushed south from Kyiv towards Kherson (south coast). That's not too far from Crimea. I can't see Ukraine having the fighting power needed to even think about an assault on that territory.

Russia has used cruise missiles to attack a train station.

It was packed with evacuees trying to leave. At least 30 dead and well over 100 injured.

This isnt looking good.

He's clearly trying to escalate matters.

The general consensus is that he wants some gains to prove the war was justified. Russia are refusing to say how many men have been killed so far. The last figures they came out with was 1,500 but conservative estimates have it at 10 times that. Putin needs to find a way to be able to announce the increased figures and he can only do that with some good news.

I was talking to a customer yesterday who is an x major and tank commander his view on Russian warfare was interesting.
No nod from above to use nuclear battlefield weapons is required and a scary thought, human life means nothing to them and is cheap
He reckons Putin will save face by saying he only wanted the Russian speaking cities of Ukriane and the rest was damage to get to them
Industry is now being hit really hard the UK, supply chain is worse than the height of covid and a big recession is on the way

They do need the nod from above before battlefield nukes are deployed to forward areas though. It's not a quick process. We'll know if there's any movement from the storage areas.

It's affecting our supply chain now, one of our manufacturers can't get any stainless steel. The lead time on some of our products is now 6 months, normally 3 to 5 weeks.

I was talking to a heat pump manufacturer last week and they can't get any inverter driven fans for 18 months!

Kremlin spokesperson was nodding to the comments of a news reporter saying "thousands and thousands of deaths" to which the spokesperson replied, "there have been significant deaths".

I have wondered for a while if Russia has deliberately been holding back, hoping NATO responds with force and then Russia shows the world what it can really do. The only thing that makes me uncertain about this philosophy is the sheer number of fighter jets and bombers which have been shot down (or sacrificed if my theory is correct) because that, IMO, would make Putin evil. Some are already drawing that conclusion I know.

We're still waiting for semi-conductors and have a £3m fund and a team of people searching through "alternate sources".
