I never once wrote or "claimed" that you should only ever live by yourself.
Nor do I live in a bedsit, or with a bunch of drunks either, for that matter.... just to clear that up.

Oh wait.... yourself = yourselves. I can see that being out of context.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Went for a lovely long walk today, drove to a couple of nature reserves I've never been to for a change.
Hopefully one of two decent pics, that's a job for this evening. Did witness my first deer rut, you could hear the antlers clacking together from over 200 yards away. Great sight.

I've got a sports massage this evening. I need it. I've not been to the gym for a few weeks but I'm battered from covid and doing nothing for a couple of weeks.

Flying home.
First time in 18 months I’ve flown off the platform and directly home.
I’m actually fooking anxious something is going to go wrong and I won’t make it, doesn’t feel real that I could be home tonight.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Well I’m still on the platform and no idea when I’m going home atm.
Major monsoon storms rolling through Darwin and the way out here and the helicopter had to turn back and now sitting back in Darwin.
Cyclone also tracking over towards Darwin and commercial flights are getting cancelled.
Seems my concerns were valid.

Re: What are you doing today ??
More HGV training, it's coming together nicely and a good job too as I have the off-road section of the test tomorrow morning, it won't take long to detach the trailer, park next to it, inspect the trailer and re-attach it. Then there's a reverse park and done! I'm actually finding the reversing really easy now but that's just fannying about with cones, reversing between other trailers on to a loading bay will be the real test. Then the road driving test on Friday.
Oh and I spotted my brake lights flickering this morning on the cage, I was reverse parking against a wall so when I got home I popped the brake light switch out, stripped it down, cleaned the contacts and put it all together again, took 5 minuets once I found it (in the passenger footwell, French cars ) And it appears to be working properly again.

Re: What are you doing today ??
On dry land. Had an early morning window between storm cells and got off the heli in Darwin about an hour ago. Couple of ciders down and on a flight home in 3 hrs. Got an upgrade to business with frequent flyer points too so winning.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Busy day today, out the door at 6 for the now familiar 50 mile trip to the training school near Beverly, wheel bearing getting more noisy..
After the checks, a 90 minute drive in the wagon and off to the test center for the big test....
PASSED with 1 minor fault for a miss timed mirror check.
Then home via Bullseye motor spares and straight in to replacing the pesky wheel bearing and track rod end, some say that you need a hydraulic press but I find a large hammer with determination and industrial language works just fine.
Cars fixed, license achieved and dinners in the ovan, not a bad day at all.
Edit
I also called my contact at DHL and got my start date, Thursday is the next available induction so 8AM on the 20th it is
Shame about the shift pattern (Thursday-Monday) but I was put on that for class 2, now I have my class 1 I should be able to move on to something which gives me some Sunday bike time.
