I feel safer on my MX than on the road, I need to buy Evie a proper two stroke 65kiwikrasher wrote:Ah good to hear it’s only pitted mate. Mine broke a valve head off and lunched the piston. I knew I was in trouble when I removed the exhaust and bits of piston shrapnel fell out of it![]()
This thread is making me want to get a MX’er again but I’m just wise enough to realise that it’s not the smartest idea for my longevity

Sprog has new bike KTM 65 sx,it’s an x indoor arena bike.I had it serviced yesterday and the mechanic said it’s proper trick with a very fast engine ,it’s even got an onlins shock fitted.Fitted a new decal kit and she’s grinning from ear to ear
Off to brewery Mx today on both the bikes to test them out, mine needs a few heat cycles to bed the new piston rings in and I am missing the mud

Re: KXF450
Proud dad moment ,her first time on a bike with gears and a clutch
A few times of trying in the morning and some tears but on the adult track with me following her in the afternoon
My bike felt really good today after its rebuild balanced suspension and strong smooth engine

She now wants to race but thats a big time commitment so I will see how it goes
I love Mx it’s a family day out and vey laid back,I have learn a huge amount about bike handling and throttle control as well

Re: KXF450
Done an oil/filter change and cleaned the air filter you need to do this more often on an Mx bike ,the air filter needs cleaning after every event
Chain is stretched beyond belief so ordered a renthal chain and some new grips that I’ve managed to destroy
Bikes running well since the rebuild and suspension set up, I’ve had an onlins spring fittted to suit my weight on the rear shock and the bike feels far more balanced now
Next event is this Saturday at grafton hall which is a brilliant track with some lairy jumps

Re: KXF450
Had an amazing Saturday which was the first time for me on a stubble track ,the 450 was just mental to ride it slid everywhere and is stupidly quick for an old fart
But the highlight was riding with my daughter in the last of the day open session

I like the first b&w photo the best so far.
....It looks like it could have been taken 40 minutes ago, or 40 years ago - it has a timeless feel to it.
