Re: What are you doing today ??
Sleeping. Back on nights, and I only got 5 hrs sleep in Darwin on the way out, couldn’t sleep Christmas Day cause my room is the closest to the cinema where they were playing games etc so after being awake for 28 hrs I had a lovely 9 hrs drug induced sleep.

1.00am and it's pi$$ing down (again!).....I'm never going to get any decent sleep with the racket it's making. And it'll mean another day doing absolutely bugger-all.
Depressing.

Three hours later & it's still hammering down. I expect the house will become flotsam & drift off into the Pacific at any moment.

Re: What are you doing today ??
As little as possible.. After being out yesterday for Christmas festivities, today i will be limiting calorie outgoings and increasing calorie ingoings. I have moved to the kitchen for mince pies and will be struggling back to the lounge for TV and internet.
I have to move later this afternoon to go to a friends for mince pies and some left over turkey. Damn.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I was going for a ride but the rain and my poor alcohol based decisions last night mean that I'm having a quiet day. A few friends were supposed to be out too but they have all backed out.
Might get out on Sunday.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Been getting back onto model making (plastic kits!) At the moment I've put together a Spitfire painted up the cockpit but now needs the outer painted. It's not fully together I've masked off the cockpit ready to spray a primer on the outer then a little bit of weathering then camo over the top. If it comes up alright I'll post up a few pics

Re: What are you doing today ??
I've had a compressor and airbrush kit for years (approx 15 years) but it's been up in the loft for 10 of those. So got it down the other day. One of the hoses has completely degraded down to bits. I've ordered some new hoses and they came a couple days ago. Went out today to buy some.bits and pieces like model filler, paint and masking tape

Re: What are you doing today ??
Look forward to seeing the photographs of it. I've got a couple of kits that've been sitting waiting to be built but I'm lacking motivation.....a 1:48 Strike Eagle, and a 1:35 Messerschmitt Bf-109K that is ridiculously well-detailed & has around 45,000 parts.

Found out late last night that there is a new Motorcycle shop in our town and GS Tyres have moved to a new unit in the same estate. Shop looks really nice and has some really nice kit inside it. Reopens on the 2nd Jan so will pop by to take a look

Re: What are you doing today ??
yep I know the feeling with the amount of parts lol! It's only a tiny but went together really well. I have a massive Revell USS Enterprise (US naval ship) upstairs in the loft but i fear my talent isn't back to that point at the moment. I'll post up pics when it's doneD41 wrote:Look forward to seeing the photographs of it. Re: What are you doing today ??
Long post! About plastic model!!
Been working on my Spit over the last couple of nights. It's only small which has it's own set of difficulties with it, would prefer a bigger model but for a tenner including paints and glue I couldn't say no
Primer has been airbrushed on
Pre shaded full aircraft
Bottom of aircraft sprayed up (light grey)
Top of aircraft airbrushed with first colour (darker grey) got to now finish off camo on top (olive green)
So far so good. Not my best but after 14 or so years not touching models it's not too bad. Couple of bits that aren't great, or more I have gone the long way around it but part of the fun I guess. Also keep snapping off the antenna under the wing - such a small part and i keep snapping it off. I just keep putting it back because if i don't I'll forget about it! (Pic attached)
Finding thinning the paint harder to do for the airbrush. I can't tell if it's because I am finding it hard to judge it or if I am trying to save money on the thinner either way I get there in the end!
Unsure how far I will get with this, could go all out weathering and making it looked used or may just finish off the camo whack on the decals and be done with it...but then that's not finishing the job correctly. I shall see
Pics attached

Re: What are you doing today ??
Working, but a 3 3/4 hour dinner break means a trip to Alan Jeffries BMW, get some firm figures on that S1000XR...
£205 a month, the F900XR te comes in at £133. I need a ride on one but they do look nice and are affordable.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Cheers D pic attached. It is a MkV it's only small and not overly complicated. I have been waiting for bluetak to mask off for Camo - was sorting out cupboards today and stumbled across a pack of bluetak so tonight I will do the green.D41 wrote:Looks great so far!!
