Re: Sunday 14 July - Ashbourne or bust
Loads of police on the A483. We left the cafe when they were still having breakfast. I pulled over near the end of the road to see if itchy wanted to carry on or do the road in the other direction. While we were talking 2 gixxers shot post. 5 minutes later a police car came flying by.
We had already decided to go back the way we can't but this time at a more sedate pace. Good job. Coppers in hiding in a couple of places.
Anyway, a great day out. What the weekends were made for.

Great roads, great day.
Feeling very happy right now, despite cleaning several hundred bugs off my gear!
Will write more later, buzzing too much right now!

Re: Sunday 14 July - Ashbourne or bust
Points of order today then...
I REALLY need to stop ordering big food items on the menu. Whilst the deluxe breakfast went down wonderfully, it really didn't help me attempting to find my biking mojo. Trying to keep sight of Kwacky whilst burping and smelling fried eggs inside my helmet wasn't the best experience! I didn't eat again until tea time!
Sometimes we need to push ourselves. I'm not saying we need to take stupid risks on the road, not at all. But in forcing myself to extend my comfort zone by following Kwacky I feel that in just the short few hours we were out my riding has improved dramatically. It's blown the rust right off me, best ride of the year (although that's probably only my 6th ride of the year), I just need to make sure I keep doing it.
I've been buzzing all day, I've been a little emotional since my Dad died and to be honest, I think I'd forgotten what pure joy felt like.
I'm not trying to over egg it, I felt so happy after each road and it only got better after every road.
Therapy. Pure and simple.
Thanks Kwacky, didn't realise how badly I needed today.

The pleasure was all mine mate. Those roads provide some pretty decent doses of therapy.
It was good to see you getting your mojo back. Let's not leave it so long next time.

Didn't get bored, but did repeat proceedings, apart from eating.Kwacky wrote: Repeat until bored.

Did you spot any of these three?
I dropped them off at the top of the A483 around 3pm. Think the Panni got pulled!

There was a Tuono and a few Panis at Crossgates but that was around about midday.

He got three points for a bald tyre and a fine for a small number plate. Luckily he was at the back and they didn't stop Dan and Doffy as I'm fairly sure they would have had their bikes impounded.Monty wrote:I dropped them off at the top of the A483 around 3pm. Think the Panni got pulled!
Nearly new tyres after 3 days in Wales!

Re: Sunday 14 July - Ashbourne or bust
I'm not sure I would want to be buying a new tyre every 3 days
Those coppers had been there all day. I have no idea how many they pulled but I reckon it must have been a successful day for them.

The Copper asked Neil why his tyres were so balled up, so he told them he was on his way back from a track day at Anglesey
I've got some utterly fantastic new roads to show you guys over the summer and they're totally unpoliced with very little traffic.

I tend to get my chain and sprockets from Bike Torque Racing https://www.biketorqueracing.co.uk/part ... t-kits.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Cheers, I did look at them but the web site doesn't allow you to select the 15/45 sprockets I need to change the rear tyre to a 60 section and keep my current ratio.
