Re: What are you doing today ??
Today's going well.. little bit of progress in my workshop (photo in Cav'sWorkshop thread) and I've made strong progress with my dissertation.
Back onto the dissertation now before the Fiancé is taking us out for a meal tonight - at least that's how she made it sound. I'll make sure I leave my wallet at home!!

Not a bad day, helped out a couple of colleagues at work and received a nice Email offering me an interview early next month.

Totally agree mate. She probably won’t, and if she doesn’t I won’t ride till she says it’s ok. My biggest concern is if I get knocked off through no fault of my own and rip the hardware out of bugger something related.StMarks wrote:Good to read that you're sensation is starting to return kk

Not sure if it was due to medical neglect or him doing things he wasn't supposed to

Defo dont use Google!! Don't rush back to ridong mate although sure it is killing you being summer time over the and wanting a good ride but recovery is more important mate. Take it easykiwikrasher wrote:Well to me they look no different to the xrays taken 3 hours post op. I expected to see some bone growth in between my vertebrae which would indicate that fusion is successful. A google on the subject gives wildly varying advice on what to expect at 6 week point. So the only positive I can take with my layman’s knowledge is it appears the metalwork and screws are still secure. Not going to worry to much till I see the Neurosurgeon on Monday.
I’m getting some feeling back in my hands so that’s a good sign so early.
I’m hoping she clears me to ride on Monday.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Currently trying to do more uni work but I'm struggling with it today.. definitely not in the same flow as I have been the last two days.
Not sure if it's because I'm excited for all the parts to come for the bike as I'm itching to hear that thing roar into life after it's all done

Packed the kids up and off to their mums for 3 weeks. They do my head in but I miss them already. Had to give a thorough handover as she has never done a high school day with Byron yet. I’ve given her every chance to succeed, made checklists etc so I just hope for Byrons sake she puts some effort into keeping his routine consistent.

I'll be like that mid-afternoon. Also woke early, usual when I start a new job. The 2 hours on the bike will also catch up with me as I'm not used to the extra level of concentration.Kwacky wrote:Trying to stay awake. I woke up early then couldn't get back to sleep.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I wouldn't say you failed. Failure suggests you had control over the outcome. You tried. You were there to help a friend and you're still there helping a friend. It might seem like little comfort now, but he passed away in the company of people who cared deeply for him and tried to do all they could to help him.
You've demonstrated true friendship today and will continue to do so for his widow.

@StMarks sorry to hear that mate, I know how easily neighbors can become very close friends.
Edit: and what kwacky said because he's much better with words and is absolutely right.

@stmarks
You tried. It sounds like he was very ill.
I for one would of course be sad but you helped and were there for them.
Tough day though...

Sorry to hear that, st Marks. Tbh without a defibrillator there was nothing else you could do and even then it might well have been in vain.
