Re: What are you doing today ??
Drove back from Weymouth and parked the caravan up for the last to me this year. Horrible drive for most of it, really bright low sun reflecting in the mirrors (all 4 of them)
Had hoped to get down to the beach for 10 mins today as they where running a motocross event on the beach but didn't make it.
Nice weekend through, all had a good time.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Im currently sat in a cafe at Sheffield Royal Hallamshire hospital, just an annual check up and i got here half an hour early. Got to allow for traffic. I am in the cage today as my drive is a sheet of ice.
Usually I take a full day off but the new office bod at work would only give me half... I might still get my fat ass to the gym but it depends on the traffic and how long this takes.

Do you still ride in the ice? I’ve got limited experience with sub zero riding conditions but doesn’t sound too safe.Kwacky wrote:Thick ice here as well this morning.

Riding in Snow? No problem
Riding on Ice? Definitely not advisable if you ride on any smaller or rural roads. I wouldn't get out of my estate if it was icy

Re: What are you doing today ??
I’ve ridden in snow a few times but on the occasion the roads got icy in NZ I stayed of the bike. One morning I rode my pushbike to the base instead. Which was a good choice because I crashed that!!!

Having a good look at helmets online after Stonesie tempted me with pictures of carbon lidsStonesie wrote:Today I gave the car a quick wash and went to J&S to look at helmets, the GT air is 5 years old now and got dropped last month so it's time for a new one, does anyone on here use a Shark helmet? The Spartan carbon is pretty similar on spec to the GTA but £200 cheaper and a touch tight right at the top of the forehead. Would it bed in or be an annoyance forever?
Gone full circle and actually think the Shark Spartan Carbon is my pick of the bunch.
1. Easily available in Aussie
2. Great price compared to other carbon helmets
3. Already own a Shark and it fits me well
4. Integrated sun visor
5. Lightest in class which I’ve just realised is going to be a big plus with my neck problems.

Re: What are you doing today ??
The only thing I have noticed riding a naked bike is the helmets with airvent that stick out a little (like my latest HJC) Have a tendency to generate more wind noise at certain times, whereas lids without all the extra plastic bits are quieter, like my old r HJC and Arai.
Ps this is not the front vents, but actually the rear/side extract ones...

Fwiw it's been a beautiful clear sunny morning up here.Kwacky wrote:Listening to the rain outside.
Oh well. At least I'm not at work.
Crisp & frosty underfoot, but I like that frankly.
