Couldnt agree more D. The Pacific was clearly well shot and had a lot going for it but just didnt seem to bond as well for me either which is a shame because i really wanted it to be really up there like Band of Brothers but it wasntD41 wrote:It's pretty much the best TV series that's ever been done....at least from a few standpoints. Band Of Brothers was very well casted and scripted and filmed. You seem to bond with the people quickly and must admit at the end when they reveal the old guys it does pull at heart strings.

Collateral..
Just getting into the first episode, but it seems to have potential.

And the Pacific War is often viewed more as a 'US only' affair, with the island-hopping campaign & whatnot.
That, and there's always a "Let's Get Revenge For Pearl Harbor!!" undertone going on there somewhere. No-one likes getting caught with their pants down.

Re: What you watching?
The morning news, and more fallout from the recent mass shooting.
There's been an alleged copycat plan foiled in Whittier, CA.....a threat was made by a student being ejected/expelled from school, and subsequently a cache of weapons has been discovered at the student's home.
Fun times.
