If you've not seen the film, look away now.
For those of us who have seen it, what did you think?
A few of my mates are pissed off with:
Snoke doing very little
Leia not dying
Luke's death
Luke not becoming the next Obi
Rey's supposed lack of history
For me the storyline and plots worked out well. Both Luke and Snoke have performed their respective roles in the storyline so for The Last Jedi there was no need to worry about Snoke's backstory or Luke's future. I think it helped me watching Empire Strikes Back the night before I saw this film, because what Yoda tells Luke during their training is pretty much spot on on the Last Jedi and it sets out why the script writers took the route they did with Luke.
I don't think that's the last we've heard about Rey's history. She could be the chosen one. That would explain the end of the Sith and the Jedi - they're not needed any more. SAnotehr theory is that she's a Kenobi. I'm not too sure about that.
Leia using the force to survive may have been a shark leaping moment but I thought it fitted in. Seeing her and Luke together got me all totes emosh.
Anyway, I loved it. The fight scene with Snoke's body guards, an X wing against a Dreadnought and the Falcon killing ass are just a few of the highlights for me.

Re: SPOILERS - The Last Jedi - SPOILERS
Loved it, great story and a brilliant setup for whats to come. The end of the current rebellion and the legend it creates and both the dark and light sides of the force now in some sort of grey area.
I went in without any preconceptions and wasn't disappointed at all. Really didn't expect to see Yoda though, very surprised about that.
Best scene for me and there was a lot of good scenes was when the Cruser light speeds through Snoke's Destroyer, incredible cinematography.
Need to see it again to be sure, but it's probably the best Star Wars film ever made.

Re: SPOILERS - The Last Jedi - SPOILERS
For me the two favourite scenes have to be the guardroom fight and the Skywalker v Solo duel. The former because it's just fecking beautiful on the eyes, that's before the fights, the storyline, the joining of the enemies... and the latter for the nod to old Samurai films. Very little sword play, loads of tension and posturing.
it is worth seeing a second time. You're not so distracted by the smaller stuff, like the little jokes. I recommend going to see it in 3D IMAX as well.

A quick thought: Was Obi struck down by Vader or did he do the same trick we saw Luke use?

?????
Obi-Wan was never 'struck down'.....he disappeared into the "Force-Dimension", or whatever it's called......there was no body, just his monk's habit with his light-saber on top.
Which means he went into the next life totally naked, I suppose
