Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
So yesterday went out for an EAR (Enhanced Advanced Ride). It's for people who have passed their test but want to see what their ridings lile after time and also see what could be next in line
For the past couple of months I've felt my riding has gone down slightly, or my confidence in my ability has gone down. So I arranged this day
Before I had to fill out a form and be truly honest with everything about my riding which I was so the observer made a note of all my points so he could go through them all on the day. I had an EAR Observer who I knew and also from my LOCAL IAM group which was nice and I also knew he has good knowledge of riding (National observer, CBT Instructor and a DAS instructor - so he's good!!).
The day started nice and early at 0930 and we headed off. I won't carry in with which roads etc but I'm highlight a couple of bits about the bike!!
I haven't been out for a proper ride yet and I was a little nervous about it all. But jeez it really didn't dissapoint - noise, feel, I know I was on an enhanced advanced but I rarely looked down at the Speedo and when I did I noticed it was quick .
We was riding down a 'very' quick stretch of road and saw a sign saying roadworks around a bend, as we approached we saw a queue of traffic...brakes are very strong, not sharp but do their job reasonably well!! I'll say no more
What a day!
Overall we had 2 coffee stops to reflect on my riding, he wasn't too worried about it, there's a couple of points he's picked up on which I feel the same about and maybe isn't as good as what it once was. I'll get about into the swing of things with more mileage and he was very happy - I'll be honest my confidence really did dip and I thought I was going to get hammered but my skills haven't dipped as much as what I thought. He went onto say I'm still at a good IAM level which was a real compliment
So what's next...i am going to shoot off a couple of emails and try to get onto the stages again and try to go for a F1st in the test, I know to many people the test is passed what more can I do etc but I am seriously considering going on to a Masters not now it will prob be in couple of years if I get a f1st in the test - Masters may not suit me but id love to try. I am very much wanting to progress with riding and see whether I am good enough to get a higher level!

Top stuff Rossgo. We can all do with improving, kudos to you for doing something about it.
I keep putting off joining my local IAM group. I really should take the plunge.

200 mile blast with my partners brother. What a ride. Ended up at Portsdown Hill for a burger! Wasn't suppose to be out for too long today but didn't get in until 1700hrs. Started off wet and rainy ended up pretty dry.

Nice ride out to meet D6Nutz at Stow. Roads were col, wet and greasy so I took it easy. I took the long way back and found a couple of new roads.

Swore at it, took it apart, jump started it from the car, rode it like a nutter up to stow.
It was good to see you kwacky and thanks for breakfast. Had a bit more fun on the way back, the roads on the south of stow sound like they where a lot better.

Gave the 690 a bucket and sponge wash followed by a polish/gt 85 and some general maintenance.
And fitted this ..
Not needed for any road trips but off road as standard the stand sinks into the ground to easily.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Put the ZX10R up for sale on a Sydney Track Junkies FB group. A bit of interest already and two guys booked into look at it once I'm home.
I really don't want to sell it, but my current situation makes getting a day at the track almost impossible. I'm also going to need the room in the garage for the new (and bigger) camper trailer.
I've shelved the idea of a trail/green lane bike. Think I'll just be content with the Multi for a while and get back out on the MTB's for a bit of off road fun.

Almost crapped myself when I heard a cars tyres skidding behind me on a roundabout. Looked in my mirrors and saw a car sliding sideways behind me. I've no idea what caused him to lose control.
I'm jumpy enough at the moment without that crap happening within earshot.

Ha! I hate using the car.
With the traffic this morning I reckon it would have taken at least an extra 30 minutes to get to work.
I will switch the car over Christmas when the roads are quiet.
