First day of the school holidays. Daughter is at vacation care for a pj's and movie day so just me and the boy hanging out. The school holidays was one of the reasons I swapped my roster around and did the 4 weeks of pain. Feels worth it now to get some quality time with the kids.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Got my ears checked. Apparently they have wax in them but the nurse could see my ear drums so they said they wouldn't usually syringe anyway because it could be dangerous. However I found out how much it would be to go to a audiologist anyway... £60 for both ears...i said no way it's a 2 minute job it's pathetic that our local docs can't do it anymore but instead send people to hospital for such a minor thing.
Nurse said it was management's fault and she said she has explained so many times and by the time they have explained it she could of completed the syringing!
Think they are getting tired if being front line over this!

Re: What are you doing today ??
Trying to catch up on all the posts I've missed since Destiny 2 came out on the 6th and I went dark!
I'd have a hard time doing it if I wasn't at work, never mind trying to sneak a quick 10 minutes here and there!
I have some work to do!
It only really hit home when I got an email telling me I had a private message from Tankslap.
As soon as I saw that, I knew what it would be.
And I was right.
Good old Kwacky checking up on me. It's things like that that make this site what it is. It's like a virtual family looking out for each other on here, giving advice and wisdom despite taking the piss out of each other on a regular basis.

D - we pay enough for the Doctors over here I am not going to pay twice for something I have already paid for. I don't use the doctors hardly at all apart from things like this which are 2 minute jobs. I feel they are getting a better deal than me to be honest.

One more chilled out day left, got confirmation from the consultant that all paper work is in order and my new contract starts on weds. Back to getting up at 6:15, it's going to be a shock to the system.

BUT....if you needed glasses, would you go for the cheap placca crap the NHS offers (because they're "already paid for")...or some ultra-cool prescription Oakleys or Persols that will help your view of the World, and the World's view of you??
Yes, I'm that shallow.....

I would go for affordable...if I dropped them then I could replace them, more expensive means I'd be more precious over them lol!D41 wrote:Fair point.Rossgo wrote:D - we pay enough for the Doctors over here I am not going to pay twice for something I have already paid for. Re: What are you doing today ??
I enjoyed my last day off by lounging about until it stopped raining then pulled the bike out for a much needed wash/polish and chain clean/lube, also the bike had got a bit of chain noise and throttle snatch so I checked the tension, 54mm, the spec is 20-30
Also I topped the oil up to about half way, it rises to max when hot at that level so it will be fine.
Next on the agenda is a strip and clean of all the calipers.
And I went bargain hunting on Ebay, I will update the post thread when stuff arrives.

Re: What are you doing today ??
more revision today, I can honestly say I have NEVER studied this hard for an exam before, even at school I just sorta turned up and wigned my way through them all (got decent grades too) But I know this is important to get right (plus the fact that is about £170 per attempt adds the pressure!)
But if I pass it will be worth it cox then I can get shiney new things! as much as I enjoy the MT and I don't regret it, it is missing that something that makes it feel extra special so I know when I'm in a more fortunate position it will be replaced but for now I am just enjoying it still

Sounds good, you just need a portable cooler for the gin, tonic, and cake and then your properly packedkiwikrasher wrote:Camp fridge is plugged in full of cider, sausages, bacon and kebab skewers.
