Re: Theresa May announcement
Theresa May should now resign. What an idiot. It shows she doesn't understand the public she serves.

100% People who kill terrorists are Good GuysMonty wrote:Really?Blade wrote:There not terrorists their people who eliminate the terrorists.
People who indiscriminately murder innocent, law abiding, peaceful people of all nationalities and faiths in the street or at concerts or on the beach are the terrorists let's not get confused.

Re: Theresa May announcement
Maybe if we can't cobble together a worthy & competent government, perhaps we could ask the EU to just have Brussles govern us directly for the meantime.?
Think what we would save in illicit expenses alone?

Pretty sure there's supposed to be a terrorist in there somewhere, Cav.

Re: Theresa May announcement
Funniest election.
PM goes to the polls expecting the public to back her despite most of what she says is not making much sense.
People turn round and tell her she is a twat!
You cannot fool all of the people all of the time Theresa.

Re: Theresa May announcement
It's great, we actually lost but I've never been so happy about an election. Except for maybe watching Portillo's face in 97!
I campaigned with my local candidate and she won against all the odds. The Tories lost their majority and they're still stuck with the poison challis that is BREXIT!
But much better than that, we've moved the centre back towards the left and over 40% of the electorate voted for a proper socialist manifesto.
The only question now is how long before May's government falls apart.

Re: Theresa May announcement
we have a strong opposition which is a good thing , it will hopefully mean things are properly debated and not just pushed through .

Re: Theresa May announcement
Sack the lot of them and have the Queen rule - ably assisted by the family, we'd save even more. First decree is Farage in the Tower, second is scrap Brexit. Win/win imho.StMarks wrote:

Re: Theresa May announcement
Fwiw I trust her judgement a lot more than most of the HoC rabble. Maybe not most of the rest of her family (idiots almost to a man), however I'm sure we'd save more in the long run losing the 650 strong cast of the muppet show.duke63 wrote:Or sack the Queen. Just think how much money that would save.
On a more realistic level all of them serve some purpose, royals as well (I think Prince Andrew does the bins and recycling) I just wish a sense of mutual cooperation existed in the HoC instead of the ridiculous points scoring that is politics, just think how good it could be if they tried really hard to sort out this country's problems.....

Re: Theresa May announcement
The Royal Family does more for the UK than any politician ever has...the exception being Churchill perhaps.
They bring in tons of tourism, and they're totally apolitical...at least publicly.
All well & good to criticize them....they're used to it....and if you tear it down to nuts & bolts then of course there will be flaws, as there is in everything...no system is perfect. But the British system of government is pretty damn good all things considered.
And it beats having a King Donald, FYI.

Re: Theresa May announcement
I see our Prime Minister has decided to throw the election manifesto in the bin and do what she wants to do. Surely she can't survive much longer?
