Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Another 110 miles of running in, up to 575 now so if I take it the long way for its service on Friday I'll be very close to the ideal 600...
She's a big girl this GS, and has 3 daytime running lights so it's pretty hard to miss, on this ride 3 driver's did miss me approaching thankfully I managed to avoid all 3 but that squeaky little horn has to go.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
I took it for the service, no issues at all found by the mechanic or the diagnostic computer so it's good to go.
Clicked it into Dynamic PRO on the way home and did a power wheelie in the rain, I wasn't trying to do that, this thing's insane.
Also received a box from eBay containing a plug and play horn, the low tone horn from a BMW E46. Should give it a good honk instead of the "meep, meep" road runner horn. For £10 I will find out.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Mrs Cookie now has a new bike.
Triumph Speed Twin 900. Was delivered on Wednesday. I traded my VFR as part of the deal as I’ve not used it due 9 months.
Went out with Mrs Cookie out to start the running in process. Dry when we left, then we got wet, then dry again. Stopped for a coffee at Doms.
Then dry, wet, dry, soaking fooking wet, dry then monsoon as we got home. FFS
Her new bike is filthy. Poor thing

Washed it, fitted the horn and the exhaust, got rained on twice whilst doing that so washed the car too.

Not quite today, but Thursday last week my daughter Jorja asked to go for a hoon on the bike.
I said “we can go for a sensible mature ride”
She looked at me and said “Whatever Father”
So we had a good hoon
Then the next day Jess had a RDO and we did a couple of hours on the Ducati and a pub lunch.

Gave the kwak a once over belt the service tomorrow.
It feels like a wasted biking year. I've hardly used it.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Took the Triumph out of for a good rip around, Not sure I mentioned it before, but the QS is broke!! Booked in for a replacement. I have to say I am spoilt now, having a QS for up/down through the box is very missed. Still a fun ride . I do enjoy this bike, it really gets you engaged with the ride to get things going lol, but still love getting back on the Beemer.
Gave the YZ a quick clean up, not done since last outing and falling off at Ashdown the other weekend.

I took the sx out for a few hours and treated myself to full English breakfast, my first in a few weeks.
Biking on our roads isn't as much fun as it should be. Regardless of the time of day, the roads are busy. The standard of driving is appalling. The roads are physically broken and there seems to be road works around every other corner.

Anyway.. I took the speed out for one last blast before I start working again.. didn't go with as planned, my rear seems allergic to air.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
So the RAC are fecking pointless, they estimated between 3-5 hours for someone to get to me. A quick ask in the petrol station and they suggested a local mobile car tyre guy, so gave him a call.. 45 mins later he had been and plugged the tyre and I was back on my way..
This was roughly the out leg, I've got no idea about the return leg.. it kind of followed parts of the same route but deviated quite a bit.. The bike says 175 miles for the return.. All in all I left at 9am and got home 6pm I'm bloody knackered now... The roads are in a terrible state across the south, there is far too much traffic about even on a work day when the kids are back at school, and the back roads where covered in tractors and combines..
There where quite a few roads though that made it all worth while,,, Theres not even a mm of chicken strip left on my rear tyre

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Today myself and Gaz collected some more bugs on our way up to Whitby for Scampi and Chips with a coffee break at Fimber cafe on the way home
About 220 miles added to the tally and a great ride in the summer weather, the sea fret on the coast was quite welcome to cool things down a bit though.
It looked really dark out over the North Sea so I checked the weather radar and saw a huge rain storm just off the coast, it wasn't forecast to move, just sat there all day... That struck me as unusual.
I use the Met Office app for that, it seems quite accurate.
