Not a bad early Christmas present.Stonesie wrote:Edited For Truth
My manager's have already said that they want to see me on my last day for a discussion, but in the meantime I had a nice email conversation with my new employer's admin to tidy up some final details like my NI number.
They have sent me a conditional contract and will be sending the full contact over for my signature in the coming days..
Just the basic class 2 daytime rate is £4k more than I'm getting now
I've just finished work for the last time this year. The bank operates a standard furlough over Christmas, so have to take 10 consecutive non-weekend days off. Back on the 5th.

Re: Work
got back today and lost 50% of my sales team, all giving up careers and taking easier jobs or going self employed part time. COVID has made them re think about a better work life balance so fair play to them

Re: Work
Its on my agenda this year.
It will mean less new stuff but if it also means less work, less stress, more time to play and get away then i think its a very decent exchange.

Well back to work, still no systems working correctly, but I have a new challenge this year, changed my area again! and will be looking after one key customer with 37 branches across the south and Wales. This will be fun LMAO! and its all mine to develop..... I am getting to old for this S**t.... I need to be out taking photos and riding motorbikes, not working... Oh hang on, that's how I pay for these things ha ha ha.

Re: Work
I used to get offshore after my break to 100-150 emails, generally 10-15 that were of any importance or relevant information. One bonus of the new companies systems is I have email access on my phone at home and after a couple of gins I ruthlessly clear my emails every few daysD6Nutz wrote:Result.

Re: Work
Today was the first of my half days of training for class 1 HGV.
We covered morning checks, dropping and re-attaching the trailer and the reversing exercise before going for a drive for about an hour. My first 2 attempts at reversing were not great so the instructor decided to show me how it's done, he promptly made a bigger dogs dinner of it than I did and started getting really annoyed with the truck so we had a coffee break.
On my next attempt I got it, and then on to the road, I really enjoy driving the thing so far.

Re: Work
A perfect job came up in my area. It is the sort of thing that would see me to retirement.
Water Treatment Operations Tech for Sydney Water in the Blue Mountains hub. 4 plants you could end up at, closest is 10 mins from home, furtherest is 35 min.
9 day fortnight, 7-3.30 each day. On call one in 4 weeks/weekend and paid for that even if you don’t get called out.
So applied. The redundancy situation here is still anyones guess and these jobs don’t come up very often.
