Re: The new improved fitness thread
So you just want to hide who you really are?
That's fair enough then, I forget not everyone shares my goals sometimes.
There's a lot to be said for a personal trainer, my gf and her mum use a PT and it's made a massive difference to their motivation to keep going - he even let me join them for free a few times which was cool.
It sounds like you're getting the variety which is also a very good thing!

Re: The new improved fitness thread
It's the variety and the motivation I need from a PT, otherwise I just potter about the gym, do the same exercises and leave.
The PT is a really nice bloke, he's a grafter so I've got a lot of time for him. He's said he'll take my son for 30 minutes to do some boxing with him as my son seems to be keen to give that a go.

That'll be good... might also help him back into TKD if he doesn't like it as much.
I used to be one of the first people to slag off PTs but now I realise that was purely down to the gyms I was a member at hired TERRIBLE PTs. The proper PTs are well worth the money if you have it, sounds like yours is decent !!

Upper back and chest today. Got me chest pump on. I might strut up and down the road to show it off

Back to cycling today. After the weekend and last nights run my legs are shot.

Since losing all this weight I've been getting some very good pumps after nearly all of my workouts - I come home and gfCav seems very happy to see me!

Still got chest DOMs from Thursday. On Saturday it felt like someone had stabbed me in the chest.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I ditched the dip belt for pullups yesterday... new PB of 15 reps of wide grip over hand pull ups. The first 3 I practically flew over the bar and could probably have inadvertently completed a muscle-up.
New weight loss low.. I lost 2.5lbs and now weigh 12stone 11lbs. I'm fast approaching sub 80kg!

Gym last night with my PT. Legs and upper back with a biceps burn out to end the session.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Any DOMs?
I did my higher weight-high rep session last night and ruined myself again.. Rather than dropping the weight to keep my 20 reps I stick to the same weight and do approximately 20, 15, 12.
Pull ups don't fit this though so instead I used a medium weight (15kg) on a dip belt and do 4x5

Not so far, but the last time I trained with him the DOMs kicked in the day after.

Ahhh sh!ttttt... I get it 2 days later with legs usually but nothing else. It's the worst when it's delayed, you assume you escaped them but no, you wake up the following day hating your life decisions

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Last weeks chest doms were the worst I've had in a very long time. Trained on Thursday, kicked in on Saturday and were still slightly sore last night.
Because of the hand injury I couldn't use my grip very well, which meant I actually engaged the chest more.
Yesterday he got me doing a new upper traps exercise just lusing light weights and I could feel the muscles tiring then, so I know they're going to burn at some point.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I've found if I hold the dumbell/cable handle/barbell with an open hand I am forced to engage my chest - must be a similar effect as you are achieving because of your damaged hand. You are forced to use your chest to bring your elbows in rather than your arms to push away.
haha, trap doms are crap! time for a sore neck

Training for the next grading in Taekwondo
It's only a few weeks away.
My hand hasn't healed so I can't do the tournament event this weekend, which is a shame as I was looking forward to it.

5 mile recovery run, nice to stretch the legs.
Signed up for Southampton marathon at the end of April. Plenty of time to train and see how fast this far boy can run
