To be honest I am really not sure ,I have really horrible nerve pain all over especially my legs and feet, joint tendon and muscle painkiwikrasher wrote:is the exercise helping physically with things Perks? I can imagine at the least its good for the mind and soul.
I think it's helping my muscle recovery but its going to be a really slow process,my hands and feet aren't turning blue anymore so that's a start I suppose
The frustration is killing me and it's so hard to not overdo things, kwacky is right and I am glad i have rested the last two days
I am back in hospital on Friday but the doctors won't commit at all about exercise and rehabilitation
Did some gentle stretching today

The problems this is cellular damage not overuse and it's hard to judge what exercise to do to strengthen you and keep the blood flowing
My middle finger swelled up today for no reason what so ever ,I can't even bend it
It just throws this crap at you out of the blue

Nice one matePerkles wrote:Did 70 miles on push bike today still in pain but those two days rest did me a lot of good
Yateley 10k race 2 tonight, 50.52 so a minute slower than last month, but something wasn't settling quite right in my tummy and I felt sick for the second half of the run.
Did manage a 5k pb at 7:44 min/mile average (and there was a decent hill in there) so chuffed with that.

3 months of recovery and I go and bugger up my knee at football training again. Bloody LCL.
The pain is horrific - essecially sat at a computer desk. Standing isn't much better either. I'm on the paracetmol and naproxen but can't wait to get home and get some ice and compression on it!

Re: The new improved fitness thread
The plan was to go to the gym at7
When wifey said she wanted to come. She had to pick our daughter up at 7.10 from a place 5 minutes drive away.
She got back at 7.50. In the gym for 8. Home at 9. If it was the local gym I would have walked there at 6.30 and be done.
Anyway, tried to do legs but my knee is sore. Squats were ok but on a new leg press I really struggled, by about 50kg less than usual. But squats were good.
I'm not getting to the gym enough, so I've not settled in the new place and I've not found my rhythm

Had a text from my wife moaning about DOMs
I made her do 3 sets of deadlifts with the trap bar. The last set was a rep out. She almost hurled. She wasn't very impressed

Re: The new improved fitness thread
5 1/2 mile recovery run tonight. Actually slowed down a bit and really enjoyed it.
Also got a race number off a fellow runner for a 5 mile trail race on weds. It's a nice route, but a fecking big hill that you have to do at least twice...

Board breaking in Taekwondo. We're not supposed to do it because we're not black belts but we use the proper boards so it's not an issue
I didn't break anything on me so that's good.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
My first (long to me) long ride yesterday... 1hr 10mins to cycle 18.1 miles. 15.3mph average.
Chuffed with that as my bike is properly terrible; 10 years old, squeeking, creaking, 2.5inch soft knobbly tyres, possibly thousand mile old gears which are properly worn, brakes which occasionally clamp by themselves, a front wheel which doesn't sit straight in the U.. it's just amazing how bad the bike is! haha
