Its got the standard suspension so shouldn't be much more than a standard bike.

The only downside I have read is the brakes aren't great. Should have stuck some Brembos on them.

They will more than likely stick a grand premium on it for the paint, akrapovic and a limited edition plaque.

Stick a set of Brembo mono blocks of eBay, race shock and some rearsets and you have a proper weapon grades superbike 8)

Four stroke poofta :P

It's a nostalgia thing for me, had the RZ250 for about 4 yrs and would always lust over the RZ500 when I saw one, bit tamer than the RG500's but I always thought they looked better.. it's all pipe dreams and wishful thinking anyways.. ;(

Spoke with a dealer today. The 60th Anniversary speed block yellow R1 will be available in December this year.

No official price released as of yet but the dealer I was speaking with sold his first one today for £15795 as a provisional price to be confirmed.

A little more info in this link he sent me.

2016 R1M will keep the same Sh1t (puke) silver, blue, carbon colour scheme as 2015 unfortunately.

I m surprised TBH as I told the Yamaha Sales Manager at Silverstone Motogp it looked cr@p and the base model looked 10 times better and he said"Everyone says that" Seems Yamaha arent listening to their customers.

In 2016 Yamaha will have their Corporate Blue / Silver and 60th Anniversary Speed Block Yellow colours available on the base model bike only, both of which look 10 times more special bikes than the higher spec R1M ironically (gah)

Have to say I m also very surprised they are not making use of the Rossi appeal (whilst he is still racing) by doing a replica.

Some more info on the 2016 R1M. Sounds like you get a free race school with Colin Edwards (rock)
