Agreed with Blade. It must be lovely to have something for those cold mornings and dark evenings bit more sit up and beg for the daily commute and filtering so you can see far ahead of you with little awkwardness. I love my sportbikes but there is no compromise for being able to see as much as you can with ease when it's dark and spitting with rain through the Friday rush hour.

You've chosen the right bike mate for the all rounder at the end of the day

Went over the 10,000 mark today. Not bad on mileage. Thought I would hit it sooner but I've been using the ZX6R then I've had tyre issues and had the Versys for a week.

Yep. It had about 3000 miles when I bought it. So I'm averaging around 1000 miles a month.

It's currently got the M5 on it. Not sure if I'm going to stick with them or try something new.

M5 is a good tyre...but I think we all like a good talk about tyres and giving different ones a try!! Would you stick with a more pointy tyre like the M5 or a more rounded tyre like a pilot Road for this bike?

If you have the cash i would seriously consider the Michelin PR4s.

They do cost a bit more but i reckon they last substantially longer so work out cheaper and the wet grip is phenomenal.

They're the favoured tyre on the z1000sx forum.

I reckon I've got about 1,000 miles left on the rear M5. The front tyres seem to wear quicker than usual on these bikes so it's likely both will be changed at the same time. I'll see what the prices are at the time. I paid £200 ride in/ride out for the M5s which is pretty impressive IMO for that service with a 190/55 rear

I wish I'd logged my mileage on the Angel ST's as I'm not sure I'm getting that much out of them. Granted they are worn only in the middle, but even so.

When did you get them fitted and what's your round trip miles to and from work? You can work out roughly what sort of mileage you've had from them.

The headlights are pretty poor. The bulbs are weak and very yellow.

I might swap them over for some nightbreaker bulbs and see how that goes.

New Z8 tyres fitted front and rear. Not scrubbed them in yet but they seem to turn in quicker than the M5s, but they're new so will have a better profile.

3,200 miles from the M5.
