Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
I m going to get the rear caliper serviced with new pistons and seals etc once it's all working and fitted.
The company I will use can also recoat the caliper in any colour I want which is worth doing as going to be some bare metal where I remove some material to improve clearance.
Can't decide if to stay gold (period look and goes with the front) or go black like the wheel and bracket to create a very stealth look?

Was about to ask the same Tony.TonyB wrote:What difference will the underslung caliper have blade? Excuse my ignorance.
Great explanation Blade. and as much as I'm not a fan of gold I'm more affected by the need to match so I vote for gold to match the front. Or coat them both black

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Last night I had to go to Manchester to drop off some stuff for Sarah, she's in hospital again with one of the twins. Nothing serious just a virus that's turned into a chest infection, seems to be a common occurrence for number two twin.
Decided to take the bike and glad I did. Had a rally night stage race with a Boxster down Long Hill and I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed zipping around cities at night.

Night riding is underrated. You really need your wits about you.

You wouldnt say that if riding at speed in rural Belgium on a fireblade which has about 1 candle power for a headlight and you had covered 500 miles in a dayKwacky wrote:Night riding is underrated. You really need your wits about you.
That was me and Bratty 2 years ago as Duke supped beer at the hotel waiting for us . Me and Bratty had done the scenic route playing on the B500 in the Black forest

You've not seen the headlights on the SX, it's duller than a single candle.

Couldn't agree more...it's an entirely different discipline.Kwacky wrote:Night riding is underrated. You really need your wits about you.
A pebble in the road becomes nothing, a small turn becomes massive (in concept). You think you've just set a new record on a stretch of familiar road.....and you have, but not in a good way.

Too much stuff to take into work today so left it at home.
It's going in for a wash and ACF50 session tomorrow.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Haven't really been around much recently. But have booked the bike in for a service (oil and filter, air filter, brake fluid and coolant)
I found the last couple of times I used the bike it seems to be spitting out coolant when sitting at lights for a little bit of time limit. A little worried about it so as it hasn't had a service for 2 years and it has only done 1000 miles in those 2 years I decided to park it up and book it in for a health check. I will let Gary know about this when I hand it in. A little worried about it as I never had it before on any other bike!!

I had a couple of triumphs do that, they don't like high coolant levels.

Froze my nuts off. They'll be frost this week.
And for the first time ever my journey was interrupted by a bomb disposal team. I ended up following them for about 5 miles. I was hoping they were going to my works but they turned off towards the M6.
