I don't know how well he's running the country day to day, but he definitely seems to be a hit with the majority of the country.

Comedian turned Country Leader, rather than Country Leader that is just a clown (lol)
the guy played a piano on live tv with his dick

Could it be a little ironic, that (judging from that^ clip) his fame was derived from a misdirection orchestrated to entertain the audience.
Seems to me he was maybe a politician through & through from the start, who simply chose a more effective route to power.?

Note, I'm not saying that he necessarily isn't a good option for the top post i this instance.
I'm simply pointing out that history has shown, time & again, that our enemy's enemy isn't always our best choice for friend.?

I think it's more that comedians are incredibly intelligent people.

Kherson has fallen. It's pretty much directly north from Crimea. More evidence that Russia wants a direct land route to Crimea and to possibly landlock Ukraine.

Belarus is sending troops to the south of Ukraine, according to the Belarusian president. They are being used to strengthen the southern border.

Russia appears to have massive numbers along the Ukraine south coast and around Kyiv. Some are speculating that Russia intends to cut Kiev in half, keeping the east for itself and making the west of Ukraine a neutral zone.

Wheat, corn and vegetable oil prices are rapidly rising on the stock markets. Ukraine produces a lot.

How long can the west stand by and watch this? We know the ramifications could be catastrophic, but ffs this cnut has got to be stopped. Anyone had any thoughts about China bombing that convoy?

I would think China would side with Russia. I imagine those two would win the World War too.

I think it's a lot stranger that he played the part of the president of Ukraine in his own TV show and then went on to become the president of Ukraine naming his new party after the TV show.

Hats off to him though, Boris and pretty much every other western leader would be on a plane to New York by now.

Don't think there can conceivably be any actual winners, if there's a WW3.? ;(

On a related concern, even the current state of conflict must have a considerable impact on global warming and overall environmental impacts ?

Oh I definitely use the term lightly.

I just imagine China are rubbing their hands together, ready to support Russia, and ready to squash Russia when all is said and done so they have have a global one party state.

This isn't at all surprising to me. Obviously going way off topic so I won't comment about it after this but the increased voting for the Far Right does not surprise me. For the last decade or more we've been bombarded with Far Left social constructs and even for me it's getting too much. I definitely feel myself backing away from what's going on and I think I do probably align with centre-right these days.

Putin has been paying his way into British and American politics for a couple of decades.

Hearing some claims that they're using vacuum bombs/missiles on Ukrainian cities. If that's true, it's a definite war crime. You can't make the argument they're using them to take out infrastructure, they're designed for maximising human casualties. A very nasty way to die.

There's plenty of evidence of civilian areas being targeted now. It looks like the Russians have decided to drop back and leave the aircraft, missiles and artillery to do the damage

Ukraine has captured a thermobaric MLRS so the Russians clearly have them in operation.

Vacuum Rockets! If they do use them, they can't even claim it's a precision strike.

I've seen video of what I think was a thermobaric strike - it produced a mushroom cloud and you could see a visible pressure wave , on Kharkov I believe.
