Re: What are you doing today ??
There are days like today, when you get an unexpected call from your opponent, who goes on the attack from the off, you recovery, rally then force them to accept defeat that I love my job. At one point it was suggested that I didn't understand their case. The offer was for them to draw something up in writing and send it to me, to make sure I fully understand. I told her there's nothing better to ensure a smooth resolution to case than to patronise your opponent. The call ended 20 minutes later with her refusal to tell me how my defence was wrong.

That's exactly what I'm working towards. GCSE's in June (I'm 32, late bloomer ) then start an access course in September for a year all being well. Fortunately I'm in a position to do the full time Uni course. Still bricking it though.Cav wrote:Mechanical Engineering - Part-time. It's not too bad the majority of the time but when you get 5 assignments due in all within 2 weeks of eachother, it starts to get manic. I started the assignments as soon as I could and I'm still struggling.
Full time at work plus doing 120 credits (full time year is 160 credits) is not easy

Today I'm doing some banal cleaning BS around the house...and laundry, etc.....it's exciting as feck.
Might go for an MTB ride a bit later.....which prolly means I'll flake and stay at home.

It's nerve-wracking mate.. I wasn't sure I could cope with the HND and now I'm not sure if I can cope with the Degree. I know truthfully I will be fine and you'll be the same.TonyB wrote:That's exactly what I'm working towards. As for GCSEs, the hardest part about it all that I found was the sheer numbers of subjects you have to cover, if you're doing just the needed few you'll be better off

College this morning and I've come for a nice ride out in this lovely sunshine. Perks of being unemployed, hey?
Stopped at Rutland Water and just having coffee and cake in Oakham. Bloody good carrot cake, I can feel it undoing all my good work.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I had the day off work to view houses. The market is unbelievable at the moment..
Had one viewing cancelled because the house sold - it was on the market for 2 days.
We've just put an offer on one that went on the market this morning having viewed it today. Turns out my girlfriend and her mum know the seller. She's put an offer on a place for sale with the same estate agent and is hoping she can be in there within 6 weeks. We showed her how much we like the place and how it's our first home, etc.. she called the estate agent before we did so when I rang the agent they were like, "Oh it's you!". We made it clear we went straight to our maximum offer which is £6k below asking price but how good a position we are in to help her move into her new place as soon as possible.
My fingers are crossed.
Downside - no garage. Upside, space to build my own workshop

Re: What are you doing today ??
Reminds me of when we were looking to buy a house in Brighton and Hove. One Saturday we made 3 appointments and all 3 were cancelled in the time it took to drive down from London!

For a short stint yes. I'm going to go back and do the whole road when it's nice again.Monty wrote:Have you found the B6047 yet, it's a cracker!

I think I'm going to be retiring to a fair weather rider this year. I don't mind the cold but it's the wet that I can't stand.

"Free" as in 'available', or she's just trying to give you to a good home??
