I suspect once they've got the tooling these will be cheaper than an average family car to make.

The tech wouldn't be too complicated to make sure there's no mid air collisions, although I suspect insurance companies will be a bit twitchy about providing cover seeing as you can cause damage in 3 directions now.

They'll never take off....mark my word.
Imagine parking the thing, the limbs you'll lose, etc.

The props would be caged, would they not? Sensors would detect the presence of object/people etc.

Well....owt like that is just a novelty, isn't it?? There's nothing you can do with it from a practical standpoint.....your average Joe Public can barely manage driving a car, never mind an aircraft.

You need to either read the article or watch the video. Because you've clearly done neither.

Re: Who needs roads anyway?
Very interesting and exciting, but 23 minutes of flight is the only downside for me.
Remember: If in Doubt use Full Throttle, It may not make the situation any better, But it will end the suspense...

I have watched & read, etc., I just remain VERY skeptical, that's all. It's a toy.

Re: Who needs roads anyway?
It's far from it. As Kwacky says, there is the tech to ensure collisions are preventable, props can be shrouded, and 23 min flight time is still plenty for the majority of trips being they would be in a straight line and no hold ups.D41 wrote:I have watched & read, etc., I just remain VERY skeptical, that's all. Happiness is not a destination. It is a way of life.

If I was the CEO of a large company looking to invest, I would its got potential for lots of applications, let alone the TOY fun value....
I would have one for sure.
