All good ideas but i decided it wasn't worth the hassle in the end.
I would only end up marking or a damaging a rim which would cost a lot more than paying someone to change the tyres. I just wanted to see if i was able to do it. At most i would be changing one set of tyres per year.

A midweek ride out
... (if it arrives) I know there are issues with some people working shifts and weekends. It also looks like we're not doing the Isle of Man this year (sad face). Weekends can also be too busy on some of the better roads. So I was wondering if it was worth organising a rideout in Wales for a weekday ...

... always make jobs so much easier. Abba do a nice kit for much of the work and its not silly expensive if you are changing tyres a couple of times a year but it still doesn't solve the problem of getting the bead over the rim.

I think he might do with a new bike and team this year. I think he may be a dark horse for the title, if they can get the bike sorted soon enough, and he can learn how to get it off the line. LOL

Re: One arm and one leg !!!!
There was a Donington trackday I was at last year, where there was a guy with one arm on a 675.
He was in the fast group, and certainly deserved to be.

Sounds fun, Tankslap day out.Itchy wrote:Me too. Wheelie school one year I think.
I can power wheelie very easily, but not clutch. Although I believe power wheelies are mechanically easier on the bike, I still dont like doing them, as my bike goes through fork seals to quickly as it is

know that feeling, from many years of riding in all weathers (couldn't afford a car) I am now a fair weathered rider. I usually park up in October and depend on the weather sometime in March she comes out again. I accept my limitations ...

Re: Getting Back In The Saddle
The biggest thing I noticed going from riding all year to fair weather riding is the speed my brain can take in information. Or rather can't.
I've gone from commuting in London almost every day to the odd day in summer and the brain definitely isn't as sharp.

Sounds like it, so much for my "couple of years" - checking on it it was 2009, I remember the track covered in broken bikes on their side and an unrepentant Brookes afterwards. ...
