Re: The new improved fitness thread

20-mile road ride on my MTB....I think I slashed my best time.....there was nearly zero traffic out there this morning, the weather was perfect, and sometimes you just end up in that perfect zen zone where the miles just float by without fanfare.

... took the KTM out for a pootle. There's one byway near us which is 2km long, so decided to use that as a quick test to get used to the bike off road. It does feel a little strange turning off the tarmac, but it is fun. Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??

I took the angry hornet out for a spin. The usual route of Quatt and the Old Ludlow road. I've not ridden the MV for a while so I wanted familiar roads while we got reacquainted.

Blind overtaking by cars seemed to be very popular today.

N+1. Joined the orange brigade. MX wasn't for me but I did enjoy the enduro side, so something a little more appropriate. Road legal so, when it's got tax and test, I plan on trying a bit of green laning as well. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240502/ab086a0817948e9e8d83b83f6e328616.jpg ...

They're also quicker, because they drive smoother and at a uniform distance, reducing panic braking. They don't get in to road rage incidents and brake check people or cut them up. They're better for the environment because the engines are used more economically. They cause less wear ...

I don't understand your argument. I thought you were suggesting that automated cars would make it too unsafe for motorcycles to share the road. Sort of, yes. If automated systems cannot be shown to be infallible in endangering motorcyclists, it seems more probable that it would be motorcycles ...

There was a post on Facebook this week on the Midland Motorbikers page showing a bike on its side in the middle of the road and an Audi parked up just past it. Apparently the bike had overtaken the Audi driven by an elderly cnut two miles up the road. The Audi caught up with the bike ...

A mystery package...??
I've no idea who sent it or what it is, other than it's from some clothing company I've never heard of that's located down the road a few miles away.
Intriguing....I feel like El Guapo in Three Amigos - "It's a sweater!!"

Fatal crash in Birmingham

Dickhead decided to use a busy residential road as a drag strip.

The standard of driving in Brum is horrendous. Jumping red lights is standard. They ignore pedestrian crossings. They overtake into incoming traffic.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??

Got a last breakfast run in before Christmas, almost went pete tong! just heading on the slip road of the motorway when the front end jammed up. One of the calipers was stuck, the disc was red hot. Managed to free things up and had a nice run out. All locked up like fort knox now.
