Re: World Cup Thread
I quite like the Germans. I'm going to visit there at some point as most people love the place. I've read several times in books on WWII (Band of Brothers comes to mind) that during the Americans march across Europe, they liked Germany the best. Would quite like to visit there myself sometime, bank...

Re: World Cup Thread
my money is on Merica winning a World Cup before England now it has taken off in the states, they will put loads of resources into it now I won't go into the US v. UK thing because I'm no expert, but you do have a point about how much Euro football has become much more popular, especially when more...

Something I can help you with, Rich? Sorry I'm so late to the game, been out of the country until late Saturday.
Also, I tried PMing you about this but I show nothing in my sent folder? Not sure I'm doing it right

Re: Ebay cheaters
If I bid on any auctions, I tend to set an alarm to notify me 15 mins before the auction is due to finish, open two windows on the laptop, set my max bid up in one window and keep refreshing the other. When there are 5 seconds or so left, I'll place my max bid. I usually win as there's no time for ...

With an office that small, I'd definitely go especially if you're the only one. It may be uncomfortable to you, but would be a solace to the family IMO.

Re: Strange Question
Off the top of my head I would say that a large contingent of co-workers at her funeral would let her family know that she was loved/well respected at work as well as at home.

Agreed with everything said so far, I can't say as I disagree with your decision. My prayers are with you and Karl's family as you move forward. I hope you stay on the forum, as I've always enjoyed your company.

Re: Putting hand up to car drivers who pull over
I live In a mountainous region of two lane road so I never have to filter, but the downside is the slow cars in no-passing zones. I always wave to those who pull off to let me by or wave me around.

Re: Traffic fines to be quadrupled
There's a lot of things wrong with the US, but at least we still police with humans here. To be fair, all things considered, I think I'd prefer to be caught speeding by a camera than a cop with a sidearm mate.! (wasntme) Why? We don't point it at you unless you do something to deserve it (and no, b...

I feel like I live my life on a very structured plan that consists mostly of putting other peoples' needs first. I'm also a meticulous planner by nature, a worrier, and a calculator of risk/reward.
I envy so much the ability of this guy to do what he did. Massive props!

Re: Is biking in the blood?
Awesome pic of your Dad! I think there is a gene that is common among many that draws us to higher risk ventures, motorcycling being one. (My Dad was not one, but he was in the 101st Airborne, another risky business). So, maybe not a 'motorcycling' gene, but a 'I choose to live life to the full' gen...
