Beer at home means Davenports!
A family friend used to work at the brewery on Bath Row (next to the old Accident Hospital). He always seemed to be able to liberate a few bottles, which made him very popular with my mum and dad!

Re: FAO Beermonster and Perkles (and other Brummies)
It has, but talking to Brendan in the P the other day he says it's getting closer! There's been a bit of activity there recently so I think (hope!) it will soon become a reality!

Re: FAO Beermonster and Perkles (and other Brummies)
Interesting news. I too hope he keeps the character of the pub (which I think he will, as the Prince has kept its separate rooms) without pricing us B30 types out! I would imagine he will put the prices up slightly, but there's no way he'll be able to charge £4+ per pint and keep the locals. I think...

Re: Interesting blog
Just causally interested. Don't go to any trouble to ask but if it pops up in conversation would be interesting to know. From the man himself: Due to a certain amount of anonymity I cannot disclose where I currently work. However, I have previously worked all over manchester from Yates in Piccadill...

Interesting blog
I posted this on Faceache but not all of you get to see my posts so thought I'd post it here as well. One of my mates, Bunny, is a bouncer on the doors of central Manchester. He's probably the hardest man I know, but very also very intelligent. He's started a blog to share some of his experiences. I...

Agreed. Bleach would be the only album of theirs I'd listen to these days I reckon.Kwacky wrote:I preferred their punk stuff, but that wasn't very popular. If Cobain hadn't killed himself the band wouldn't have lasted long IMO.

Not to mention Brighton Rock which was published in 1938.Kwacky wrote:I'm not convinced by that.

Re: Nasal hair
I've just plucked one so long and curly it looks like it's come from another part of my body. Is this all old age has to offer? Increased hair growth like weeds on parts of your body you really don't want them? You were very ungrateful when I gave you that nose hair clipper for your 40th birthday.....

I'm at uni this week doing a module for my MSc called Leading Performance. I'm loving it. It's a subject I'm fascinated by, I already have done a lot of stuff on it so I feel ahead of the game, and as a Myers-Briggs P I'm loving the almost complete absence of structure....though as most of the other...

Re: Weekend plans
Went to work and back on the pushbike today so tonight I'll just recover with a bit of pasta (and a beer or three). Saturday - weekend trip to Loaf, housework and might try and pop over to the literary festival my mate is running (Andy K, the shorter of the 2 DJs at Kwacky's 40th for those of you wh...
