Re: What are you doing today ??
Same, after a hectic week last week and a 300 mile day yesterday I have needed a day off, I did manage to order a timing belt kit for the car though.

Re: Stonesie's GS Mods, Farkles and Tinkering
If you can do a European tour I would recommend it, I loved it! The way we did it was not the cheapest but we would have the first hotel in each direction pre booked, then from there pick a general area for lunch the following day and get on booking.com to pick a hotel for the night over our meal, o...

Re: Stonesie's GS Mods, Farkles and Tinkering
Looks like it was just a poor signal as all was well today, 300 miles up to the lake district and back with the message showing up once at Skipton and then staying off... 1175 miles already.

Re: Stonesie's GS Mods, Farkles and Tinkering
Well, that didn't take long. Brief ride today and the SOS system has thrown a hissy fit and flagged a malfunction message asking to see a specialist workshop.
Google says that it's most likely that it had a poor signal and will sort itself out. Might give it another go tomorrow.

Washed it, fitted the horn and the exhaust, got rained on twice whilst doing that so washed the car too.

My neighbour has just had it again and I'm seeing more Perspex going up at shops and cafe's, might be a tough winter.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
I took it for the service, no issues at all found by the mechanic or the diagnostic computer so it's good to go. Clicked it into Dynamic PRO on the way home and did a power wheelie in the rain, I wasn't trying to do that, this thing's insane. Also received a box from eBay containing a plug and play ...

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Another 110 miles of running in, up to 575 now so if I take it the long way for its service on Friday I'll be very close to the ideal 600... She's a big girl this GS, and has 3 daytime running lights so it's pretty hard to miss, on this ride 3 driver's did miss me approaching thankfully I managed to...

Yeah they came with the bike, they're pretty bright so they can stay... I will see what they're like at night soon enough.

Re: Stonesie's GS Mods, Farkles and Tinkering
Got the bike out today and did another 190 miles of careful (giggle) running in, trying to keep it below 7K but giving it up to 3/4 throttle = power wheelies in soft suspension mode. I noticed that I had over adjusted the fogs and the bike was cross-eyed, so when I got home I shortened an allen key ...

That is their main use so far, Filter Lights... I'm amazed how effective they are at getting the bike noticed.

Re: Stonesie's GS Mods, Farkles and Tinkering
Tidied up the wiring and refitted the fogs today, I got more satisfaction from this little project than I get at work :D SW Motech say on the website that these bars do not work with these fogs, I accepted that challenge... The Touratech mounts allow some left/right adjustment as the bars are not st...

Re: Another New Bike Day, Stonesie's GS
The exhaust will have to wait until the bike has had it's first service, it's booked in for next Friday afternoon.
Supposed to not be that loud but have a deep tone, can't wait to find out![Raaar (raaar)](./images/smilies/raaaaaaar.gif)

Re: Another New Bike Day, Stonesie's GS
Today's tinkering was to tidy up the bushings as they were a little too rough and ready. they were over size so got marked and filed down for a proper fit. Then they got cleaned with Isopropanol alcohol and sprayed matt black. https://i.imgur.com/5hCWzzz.jpg https://i.imgur.com/1t1HeFo.jpg https://i...

Lots of parts prices have gone stupid.
I was listening to a podcast last night and they were saying how a race kit ECU and wiring loom for a fireblade was £1200 in 2019, £5200 now![Floggin Dead Horse (deadhorse)](./images/smilies/deadhorse.gif)
