Re: V6 Laverda
Can't watch the YT clip, but I'm guessing it was a Guzzi? I know it's not really a bike thing, but a friend back in my teen years had a 45 single given away by a Motorsport magazine back in the 50's or 60's, it had the V16 BRM at full chat going round Goodwood circuit, tbh next to a RR Merlin it's o...

Re: lean angles?
It should come easily with the right position & speed, I thought I was positioned well and hanging off the bike - until an Instructor got hold of me and put me into what can only described as an extreme muscle testing position on a static bike, fact was I needed professional help to achieve that...

Re: Helmets and Track Days
Fwiw I've done a fair few TD's in the UK and not once had my kit inspected bar the cursory glance in pit lane by the guy checking wrist bands. As far as racing a gold sticker is all that's called for in the "Blue Book" regs, I've not done a foreign TD so not sure about those. Hth.

Re: New Ignition switch
What StM said Casper, I think its a straight swap for a new lock, however watch out for the thief- proof screws holding the lock assembly on, the new lock should come with them supplied, the heads snap off at the correct torque when you fit them, so obviously the old ones will be difficult to remove.

Re: The on-going tyre saga
Just a word of caution re road legal race tyres on the road, one of the 675 lads put Racetec part worns on his bike and had a great time hooning around the roads around Saddleworth near where he lives. He had the bike in for either service or new tyres (can't remember which) and the Tech called him ...

I know exactly what you're talking about Monty, I was told the same thing by my instructor at Ron Haslams, just the few sessions I did with him pushing me and my legs were quivering like jellies, my quads were shot for days after. However I retained some of what was drilled into me and was faster be...

Re: Test rides
That's a cracking write up Godzilla, I was as surprised as you appeared to be about the Mutley, that bike being lined up in my sights as possibly my next bike purchase, I've tried the Tiger 800, Explorer 1200 and the KTM SM990 and tbh I couldn't live with any of them for differing reasons, so I've p...

I have salmon and cucumber sandwich's today how fecking posh am I. In our house that depends on whether they're cut into neat little triangles or the head and tail are sticking out each end of the sandwich Desperate Dan style. I personally favour the latter.... anything but liver ..... Had Calves l...

Exactly what I thought as I read the words "rail gun", there are so many sci fi style ideas in everyday life, laser beams, mobile phones, induction hobs, microwave ovens, space stations etc. I love Science Fiction.D6 wrote:I love how scifi stuff comes a reality.

Re: Factory sticker removal
Not sure about the Kwak ones, but all the Triumph ones I've had have responded to being very warm and then just starting a corner and pulling gently and letting it peel at its own speed. Mrs Gee has got some "Sticky Stuff Remover" which works, but only slowly and only on the sticky residue...

Phoning the mot bods in the morning to see if they've got a spare slot for tomorrow as I finally got the bike back together today. Saturday night we're off out to dinner with friends at a local foodie pub, so stomach will be protesting during juniors rugby trading on Sunday am. Out for a ride Sunday...

Re: Epic fun- I want one.
I've tried flying my 11yr old's helicopter away from me and back toward me, those bikes look amazing, but the skill of the "riders" are worth thinking about as it's insanely hard trying to make your hands do the opposite to what your head is saying. Strangely mini Gee can do it without any...

Hope she is ok about it all Cavetroll, if it had been us Mrs Gee would've blamed me for it all - even the thing falling off the truck. Her favourite wine is in order by the sound of it. ;) Fwiw, I've always found that windscreen companies can be remarkably helpful if you can get the car to them, rat...
