Feargal Sharkey, he of Undertones fame, is a priome mover in making the water companies clean up their act.

There are a number of other websites now calling the water companies out for pouring raw sewage into our rivers and seas and one of the best is Surfers Against Sewage who print a map everyday of the government's own water quality testing. prepare to be shocked. The red crosses are where there are high levels of contamination e coli being the main one. Its not recommended to use these bathe is these waters unless you want a week of the shits!..

It's appalling. They shouldn't be allowed to do it.

So long as the bosses get their bonuses and the shareholders get their profits I guess nothing will change.

Maybe there should simply be a law passed, that if a company's operations are causing harm to the planet then all costs to reinstate must be be taken ahead of any bonuses or dividends..?
There are other sectors that may benefit as well as the water companies.

Maybe just maybe water, energy and transport should be taken back into public ownership. Literally, trillions have been taken out and offshored since 1979. Meanwhile, Norway has a $1.2 trillion sovereign wealth fund delivered mainly from public-owned energy.

I imagine that would be pretty useful when you need to invest in infrastructure.

Sadly there's only one Party that's committed to doing that and they don't stand a chance of getting into power.

The fact that renationalisation is now very popular with the voting public and that the mainstream parties aren't pushing for those votes should tell you everything you need to know.

That politicians are only in it to line their own pockets and to allow the rich to get richer at the expense of the rest of the country?
