Had an email from them today. It basically said "we know you don't want another bike and the weather is crap, but drop by for a coffee and a natter whenever you feel like it"

What I thought was a nice touch is that it's an individual email, not a mail shot.

They've been really good. The test ride was quick to sort out, they didn't pressure me when it came to making a decision. They gave me a really good deal on the SX and the part exchange and the post sale service and the servicing department have all been top notch.

keeping a relationship with your client base is a great business philosophy yeah so many get it wrong. Good to hear you'll have the confidence with them if you need any customer support

A big part of why I bought the BMW is because the local dealer is a bit like that, no Email to be sure I'm happy with the bike but a phone call from the salesman and assurance that the coffee machine is always free and he always makes time for a chat.

When It came to booking the test ride they asked me how long I wanted, I thought I was being a bit cheeky asking for 3 hours but the reply was "okay, I will do the insurance for 4 hours just in case you get held up, if that's still not enough just give me a call and I will extend it further"

It sounds like the new owners are intent on liking the business. They've put CCTV over the computers to check up on the sales staff. They've been given silly targets to hit, despite it being winter anda lack of cash floating about and the new owners have been calling sales staff at home.

Apparently one of the salesmen is leaving. Gareth is the guy I went through. He's been there for decades. He knows all the regular customers. Losing him will mean a loss of sales.

Both of the sales staff are going. Almost 60 years' service between them.
