Ducati trackday Donington 12 May

Just booked myself on this. I am thinking this might be my last trackday on the Ducati.

The noise restrictions on the Silverstone day are very strict. 105db limit with 108 drive by. No engines running before 8.30 or after 5.30 and anyone who triggers the drive by sensors will be black flagged and tested for 105db. If the exhaust is found to have no baffles, your day is over regardless and you wont even be static tested. Not prepared to take the risk on that.

If you need a spare baffle I think kwacky left one somewhere in Wales (giggle)

It is getting silly with the noise restrictions at race tracks. Pisses me off all these people that buy a house near a race track and complain about the noise. The trackday industry is slowly moving away from the uk.

Duke.. Silverstone are the least strict circuit in the UK. If you can't get on circuit there then you need a better exhaust system.

Ducati make the worst bikes for circuit in respect to noise. I can get my bike on any circuit without a baffle (except for Castle Combe)

Silverstone has tightened up over the last 12 months.

The Ducati days are generally very lenient but apparently some V4 Panigales with the Ducati race system failed testing last year and were not allowed on track.

Ive booked the Silverstone day on the 999, never had a problem before or anytime at Silverstone even on the RSV4.
Be my first track day since coming off (sweat)

Too much of a good thing.?? -Fwiw one of the things I like about trackdays is the background sound of all the different engine styles, each howling to their individual score.

916 bikes don't compare well to modern stuff in any way at all. They are long, weight is low and they don't turn quickly.

Very stable through long bends though.

I bet track days will be massively popular if we ever get the option to attend one this year which imo is very unlikely.

I need to trackday so bad! After the disappointment of my cancelled Euro I'm falling to bits. Everytime I look at the bike I feel hollow :(

I'm also delaying getting the bike ready because at least right now I have an valid reason why the bike can't be used - It doesn't have the fairings, lights and seat installed.
