It just gets more pathetic by the day - a trade deal with a Nation that is so far away it has zero benefit to anyone.

A cargo ship takes 51 days to travel from the UK to NZ.
1. It will benefit NZ just fine (lol)

2. Kwacky has just found a back door into Australia, in fact, I'd just stay there if I was him, the roads are much more bike friendly and the weather is less extreme
Professionals such as lawyers and architects will be able to work in New Zealand more easily, the government said.

I'm too old to move to the other side of the world. Add tempting as it is.

According to one report I read, NZ and Oz are two of the most aggressive exporting Nations in the World because of our isolated they are from much of the rest of the world.

Generally speaking it's not just age as a number either.......it's all the stuff you accrue during your adulthood... cars, bikes, job, wife, etc.
And what if you go somewhere & 6 months later ine of you hates the place? - that would be tough.

I wouldn’t mind being in NZ but Australia does not appeal anymore.

In any case I am too old to move to either.

TBH I don't know enough about either one to make a decision, if I was so inclined.

I grew up in NZ and lived there for 28yrs, and I've now lived in Aussie for 22 yrs, and I've extensively explored both countries. As much as I do love many aspects of Aussie, if it wasn't my kids holding me here, I'd be back home in a heartbeat.

Luckily Jess is very motivated to eventually be living in NZ at some stage as well.

Well, that's certainly encouraging.

Everything I know about Australia comes from Mad Max & Neighbors.
Everything I know about NZ comes from Lord Of The Rings.
And from you.

We are heading for disaster.

Matthew Paris, a former Tory MP has an article in the Sunday Times today, stating the dots will all join up soon showing what a mess we really are in.

For Brexit to ever have a chance to work, the Government should have been investing, from the referendum date, massively to replace the manufacture and growing of much of what we import. They did none of it.

There's already a move towards industrial scale agriculture, similar to America and China. Sell off farmland and build houses on it. Let the well off but properties and rent them out. Make it harder for the next generation to own property. Tie the masses the debt. Turn humans into cash cows you can milk for the rest of their lives.

I have some small involvement with farming in my work and on a small scale, its impossible to make it pay.

Supermarkets are the big issue here. They claim to make our food cheaper but what they are really doing is making huge profits for themselves whilst turning our rural areas into industrial farming.

It's not a move towards, they've been moving that way for nearly 50 years!

Hardly news though, is is mate.? :?

It was manifestly obvious to anyone who wasn't wearing bigotry blinkers . Those who still proudly profess their "win", are not likely be swayed by such petty considerations as facts.!

No it isn't but the OBR is an independent body that works closely with a number of Government departments. Even they can see the shitshow ahead.
