They are very good at infrastructure, but people do tend to die building this stuff

There's millions of Chinese. No one is going to miss a few.

Life does seem to be very cheap in China. There's far too much online footage of nasty car crashes out there.

I expect the engineering logistics of transitioning a trainline from over the water, to under the water AND underground, and then back again, just for a few miles, are much more complicated for trains than for cars.

They've been able to do it for over 150 years. I don't think it's anything new.

They have been able to do it and the Scandinavians have already done it and i traveled on it just a few weeks ago.

Personally see that as a massive engineering spectacular. They have clesrly worked hard. Maybe its more of showing off to the world what they are capable of. I think everywhere has something that they are proud of. London -london Bridge, The Shard, New York- Empire State Building, Paris Effiel Tower. China want to show that they are here and now. Mark my words we will be taught Chinese in 100 years because they would of wiped out any governments that pissed them off

Mmmm Rossgo, so their previous endeavour the Great Wall of China doesn’t get a mention

I'm starting to think the "World's longest sea crossing" would be done sitting in a helicopter stuck in between Rossgo & KK.

Yes of course their history is grand. They have amazing buildings etc. But that means nothing in this world. They want to build modern and show off what they can do now. They are trying to modernise and show their strength. Mark my words they will be the next superpower, they are just trying to get everything into place now
