Post crash legal requirements

Every day I hear different stories about what people should do if they are involved in a crash regardless if the Police attend or not it has really shown that many people don't actually have much idea of what their legal obligations are.

So, I thought people may be interested to read what their legal obligations are that might also save them their licence

You need to tell your insurer as well, as soon as you can.

It is not a legal requirement to notify your inurers usually just a compliance issue under the terms and conditions, but even then if you are making a third party claim, very often they do not need to be told until the claims process has started.

The article is only referring to the immediate side of the road post crash requirements though.

Yep. Sorry. I should have gone into full lawyer mode and made it clear that it's not a legal requirement to notify your insurers but it is a contractual requirement.
