I struggle to understand the level of stupidity needed to think this was ever a good idea.

The look of shock on his face must have been priceless.

Prosecutors said that the biggest mistake they made was using a paperback encyclopaedia rather than a hardback......

Yeah....I paused for a sec. when I read that....the Desert Eagle is a true heart-stopper of a weapon. A lovely gun if ever there was one....and an expensive one too.

Point blank range, eh?? Great idea.

The sentencing is below state guidelines but Norman County Attorney James Brue said "the reality [is] that this foolish stunt was dreamed up, planned and executed by Pedro Ruiz, and the defendant wrongfully and tragically relied on his assurances that the stunt was safe".

I'm trying to remember what distance the rangemaster was at when I qualified....20 ft or so sounds about right....too far and the shot might be off....too close & well, a kevlar vest is not "bulletproof" rather than bullet-resistant.

It's definitely what I'd call a 'life-defining moment'.

Surely he has said to do it therefore she should be relieved of any prosecutions. He has allowed her to do this which would of been documented. Surely she cant be held responsible for it regardless of if a life was taken or not.

Or it was a very clever ploy to get rid of him forever.

Yes mate, this book will defo save you......
BANG

Consent isn't always a defence. She knew firing a loaded gun at him posed a very serious risk of harm or worse.

I agree. I wouldnt allow someone to do it to me thats for sure!!

However ill be honest the way pranks are going nowadays eg people dressing up as axe murderers and chasing people down the street i think we all knew this was coming. I HATE how pranks are going nowadays, they aren't pranks at all thry are produced to harass, intimidate ans scare people, THIS IS NOT A PRANK, and personally am waitong to see one of these tw@s get a gun pulled out on them and shot while its being filmed. Id like to see how the courts deal with that.

Its sick whats happening, i am seeing more and more in FB like this and its down to how stupid people can be.

What I can,t understand is that why they didnt try shooting through the book first to see if the bullet would go through it or not and then try this foolish act afterwards.

They had done that previously and it worked (allegedly)

From memory, I believe it was a thicker book and on a table.

I think it's Darwinism and she's at more risk outside of jail than in.
