Buying a new bike soon.

Hey guys, long time no see, no chat, no me. (facepalm)

I,ve been living and working overseas for over 3 years. Not been working all the time but I,ve travelled all over Turkey and Iran, worked in UAE. So been there and got the t shirt for it too. I,m now back in the UK and wanna get a new bike. I want a naked street bike but a sporty one. I dont want anything big and mad cos I,ve done all that in the past and now I just want a sporty middle weight street bike for occasional ride round my favourite roads namely Cat and Fiddle, Longhill and A483 in Wales. I dont go any where else usually. Also an occasional Oulton park will be all that I would use the bike for. I tested a Yamaha MT09 and was a very fast bike but didnt like the snatchy throttle response. I,m testing the kawasaki Z900 tomorrow and next week I,m testing the new Honda CB650F. The honda looks great and its only 650cc which is enough power for me with really good reviews. With a price tag of £6k and a finance deal at 0% interest for only £80 a month I think its a great buy. What do you guys think about this little middle weight Street naked Honda?

Hi stranger, long time no see.

I reckon you'll find the Honda dull after the Z900 and MT-09.

Either the 675 or the 765 street triples need to be taken for a test ride. Both have more than enough punch for road and track, they handle really well and they're very well priced.

Last year I was looking at the MV Brutale 800. So that's another option.

Hey Kwacky, **** hell, you,re still around? Hahaha Good to see you in a fashion on here. I did go today to see a Triumph but our local dealer has vanished. Good idea I need to try the 675 street tripple too.

The problem with most new bikes is the emission controls that they have are what makes the throttle response a bit snatchy on initial throttle opening, a re-map will sort it on any bike.

Triumph seem to be the best out of the box, my 675STR was really good, the MT-10 was not bad, but the snatch was there until I had it mapped.
The MT-09 I rode was fun, fast, frugal but the snatch was made worse by the comedy suspension, the 07 suffers from po-go suspension too but likes a wheelie and sounds like a Ducati with a decent can.

A 675 STR should suit your needs, mine did everything from touring to almost* scuffing a knee at Cadwell Park and never broke.

(*a reflection of the rider not the bike)

Kwacky thats great but I need to buy a new bike to take advantage of their monthly paying schemes. I dont want to pay cash hence looking for a good deal on zero interest finance deal etc.

Hello Frankie, If Kwacky sells his bike to me for £80 a month I could definitely go for it. (lol)

PCP is another option if you're looking for low monthly payments

Kwazaki are doing a 0% deal on Z900 but it works out too expensive and I dont rally want to spend that much on a bike any more and thats why I liked the pcp option on the honda cos it only works out about £80 a month. (beer)

I,m not working yet but going to interviews these days a lot. So until I work again gotta take it easy on spending. ($)

I went for an interview to a big factory in Wolverhampton 2 weeks ago for a project management role and still waiting to hear. If I get the job I,ll be living round your neck of the woods soon. (rock)
