So how long do we think this coup will be bloodless? I can't see Mugabe giving up power so easily.

Either way he won't be around for long. There'll be "faction fighting" and whatnot to look forwsrd to.
Fun times ahead.

The country will tear itself apart. There are lots of rumors of the Chinese backing the military. China has got massive interests in that country. They control a lot of resources.

Fwiw although I'm not generally an advocate for interventionism (to say the least), I wonder if that may not actually be a positive ?

It may bring short term stability but it means that Zimbabwe won't benefit from its own resources.

But I don't think it's exactly "benefited from them" thus far anyway, has it.?
Besides, African countries don't generally seem to display much ability to manage the whole "fair &
even distribution" concept IMHO.

The bottom line with Africa is that if it didn't have the resources The West wants/needs, then we wouldn't have any interest in the place whatsoever.
Sure, we'll try to put a "humanitarian" slant on things....but only to satisfy the delicate political palate of the Western public in general.
China...not so much - they've got over a billion people to please & they don't give a fcuk how they do it......game on!
