Tyres were tested using a 2016 BMW S1000RR

The Power RS seemed to be the best try in the dry using sportsmode.

The Rosso tyre was just 1 point behind the Conti and the S21s. The RS did the best again in road mode with the M7rr coming in last place.


In the wet the M7rr scored 221 points out of a possible 240.

it appears to me that the only thing that really lets the M7RR down is the one dry test on bumpy corners with compression everything else is only a point different from the other tyres tested across all the categories . I would like to see cost and longevity factored in with those results .

I ordered a set of M7rr's for my 1299 but they couldn't get them in time so they recommended trying the Michelin power RS. I was pretty impressed to be honest. They dealt with some torrential rain well and seemed to be pretty grippy overall. Haven't really tested them cranked over as 1000 miles from home on a new bike with new tyres, I was finding the 1299 a bit intimidating! They were abused on the straighter roads though and have kept a nice profile with a seemingly very good wear rate. Hopefully going to get a dry day at the weekend to see what they're like on some roads I know a bit!

What's the price of the RS like compared to the M7rr?

I'd like to try the Bridgestones to be honest. The RS10 when I used them in a couple of test rides lately were feeling ultra good

Very similar price. I think he quoted me £30 more but I got £30 back from Michelin.
There are a couple of track reviews for the RS but not really any real world tests yet.

They're an option for next year when I'm looking at new tyres for the 675

It doesn't look like anyone on the street triple forum has used them, they're all over the M7rr or the PR4.

Just nipped to Bala and back and really can't fault the Power RS tyres. Emptied the tank in 80 miles so I was having some fun and the tyres were faultless. Thumbs up from me!

I've got an almost new set of Pirelli supercosa SC on at the moment.

I'm thinking frosty and wet weather will not be a fun ride.

What you need is a bike with traction control.

I'll be using the Z8s on the versys as that's what's on now. I suspect they'll be done early in the new year. Unless there is anything new to take my eye I'll stick with these.

That sounds great. Got a pic of how much tread is left on rear? Id like to knowif it will get me through winter

I'll take some photo tonight, D6. I think i have a tread depth gauge too.

Struggling to upload the photos ATM. My phone wont connect but 3mm on centres and 4mm on shoulders. Good for a few thousand miles i should think.

I'll throw in a part worn PR4 front as well.

Would rather these were used up then left in my garage. They were removed because i went on the Euro trip a couple of years ago and wasn't sure if they would last the trip. No punctures at all.
