Change the rate of which the spring compresses from progressive to linear.

Basically I get the same rate at the beginning of the stroke as I do at the end of the stroke in flat.

Where progressive will effectively feel like the spring has got stiffer (it hasn't the spring rate remains unchanged) but the linkage will make it feel stiffer the deeper into the stroke it has travelled.

Not a review more notes at the coffee and cake stop.

Noisey bugger with a snatchy throttle. Needs finesse and doesn't like the throttle being partial open. Going to take some learning.

Silly one. Grips are as effective as wrapping a scaffold pole with a condom. Useless. Recommendations needed.

It's either deceiving quick but feels slow or not as bonkers as portrayed but no pussy cat either if that makes sense. Currently feel like my Blade had more midrange and the 10r more up top.

BREMBO m50 brakes. Verdict not out yet. Need bleeding further or pads have glazed beyond rescue as not as good as the hype. My 10r Tokico calipers with Brembo S.C. pads were better.

Initial impressions are it's a grower and needs more setting up and me getting used to it. Its not a user friendly bike you can go quick on straight away imo.

Saying that. I'm downing my coffee and buggering off as its special and i cant sit here and not want to ride it :P

More later ;)

To be fair she has shagged Hugh Grant and Shane Warne so i reckon any of us would be an improvement on that. :D

Must admit you learn alot from sitting down and writing down your intial thoughts. Think you have got the main things on the head which you will, in time sort out and make it in a more rider friendly condition. Interesting what you said about the brakes too but I think you will figure out the best ways to get the best feel of them, bleed, clean, different pads or all!!

Sounds like you have your winter bike plans sorted!

I think the brakes need different pads.

There not crap far from its just they lack initial feel and bite. There not as good as the hype as stock.

Do you know if they're stock pads for certain?

It would certainly be a fairer comparison once you put tried and tested pads into the M50s!! I'm guessing it has braided lines as standard?

Yes stock pad. The just say HH on the back but according to Brembos own site they are compound 93 which is solely used in oem pads.

Yes braided lines.

did you test ride another 1299 before you bought this one or did you take this one out?

I test rode one a year ago and can't remember how they were tbh. A few owners have said the initial bite is poor as stock so I reckon it's the pads.

Been reading reviews where there hyped as race bike spec which there not or race bike brakes are average at best.

Swapping pads is a cheap and easy mod, at least you'll have something in there you like and it'll help you concentrate on other stuff you might want to change. You going for your preferred SBS?

It's all leading to pads and fluid IMO.. If you can spare the cash do the upgrade early?
