Happy new bike day to me!

A day late but I'll let myself off!
Despite the best laid plans this season is starting to get towards the end and I've realised I've only ridden a bike once this year. I hired a Suzuki gsxr 600 at Oulton which went well until someone who looked like they'd stopped at the side of the track suddenly decided to carry on and swerved onto the racing line front of me at about 10 mph. I got round him without a massive accident but by then I was into the corner carrying far too much speed and I pretty much high sided and got spat off big time into the gravel trap. The bike was a mess with the rear subframe snapped in two places so that was the end of my day and a £500 repair bill. Thank god they limit the max you have to pay!
I had loads of plans but they all seem to have got away from me. My 675 engine is still in pieces. I did a deal with a well known 675 specialist for all the parts for a rebuild, I sent them my head to get skimmed and then they sent me an invoice for double what they quoted me. Trying to get hold of the boss who originally quoted me is hard work and when I finally got hold of him, he promised to call me back which never happened.
Anyway, with summer nearly over and no resolution in sight some extremely advanced man maths came into play and I bought this.

The plan so far is to run it for 6 to 8 months and not lose too much money on it but a little run over to Bala today and it's really starting to get under my skin. It's hot, noisy and really doesn't like to go slow or sit in traffic but Jeebus it's fast! You can feel the anti wheelie electrics kicking in at ridiculous speeds.
More to follow when I can get some decent pictures.

Beautiful bike. Enjoy it, Andy.

When i did the Snetterton Panigale trackday the bike was trying to wheelie in third gear at 115mph on the straight. :D

Cracking choice of bike Andy. Sorry to read about your track crash, do we assume you managed to come through it with less damage than the Gixer mate.??

Haha yeah I wasn't too bad, thanks StMarks, I seem to bounce reasonably well and was up and running for the bike before it came to a halt. Just a bit stiff in the coming days but a big shout-out to Held leathers and Shoei helmets for that being the case!

Sorry to hear about the off at the track Andy, also sorry to hear someone's try to pull your trousers down about the repairs to the 675!

However congrats on the new bike, it looks a corker - you didn't mess about did you? Straight to the top of the line! Hope you enjoy it and here's hoping the remaining summer is generous in sunshine, tailwinds and dry roads for you. (sun)

It's funny you have picked one of these up actually. As I was on a course last week and I was talking to a fella about one of these. He owned one for a while and LOVED it BUT he also said the bike was more capable than him and made him ride like a loon so he actually got rid of it lol!! It looks stunning! How do you find the power compared to your 675

Power wise they're not even in the same ball park! I'm slightly worried about my licence as I'm not exactly known for my restraint with the throttle at the best of times :D Speaking to the lad I bought it off, he says with the wheelie control turned down it will try and lift the wheel out of every corner. (raaar) I've just had a look in the manual as I can't work out how to turn it down which is probably a good thing (lol)

Cheers Duke. I'd actually just been for a play and figured it out but a few of his videos look well worth watching.
