Cheers mate, the brakes work, they are juat very very wooden which ive heard is pretty mucb the same across the board kn these yamaha calipers, stonsie suggested new pads might cure a lot of it so thats the plan once pay day gets here,

Congrats on the purchase! I have a soft spot for these bikes as they're more of an Enduro bike with a big engine.

New pads and brake lines are always a good place to start. After that I'd imagine R1 calipers and a brembo or accosato master cylinder would be all that's required - if you feel they need further improvement

Suspension-wise, a guy I know had one and fitted the Andreano Ohlins (complete wild stab at the spelling) forks and shock fitted.. they transformed the bike and this chap was definitely a larger gentleman - they earned their money that's for sure

that's the XSR model, my friend (I say friend, an ex colleague who I mock coz his head looks like a big toe) has the 700 version, its a nice bike but I just think that with all this café racer retro style stuff I wanna do it myself, although that akra is very nice as are the rearsets (inlove) Ive gone with the Scorpion Serkat, I like that its quite an angular pipe and I thik it suits the pointiness of the bike. same as the one below, same colour bike as mine too so I know how it will look lol

Should arrive today and hoping to get it fitted one evening this week ready for little ride out Saturday morning

I was thinking more the shock and the forks, but I do love that can and the colour scheme.

Looking forward to hearing your new can!

yes the shock and forks do look nice on that, Not given them a lot of thought yet, doing some research apparently an 05/06 zx10r shock fits in with minimal modification, but Ill probably go for something purpose made when I eventually do get to that

Have a chat with Darren, he might be able to sort both ends out for about 300 to 400 quid.

I've been buying a steady stream of ultralight camping gear since April for a wild camping biking trip in August. Tent, knives, camping chair, gas burners, billy cans, Kriega luggage, waterproofs, tarps, hammock, midge net, midge hat, inflatable bed etc. etc. etc. etc.

She's going up the wall with it, says I'm addicted to receiving parcels.

That's why I get stuff shipped to work, then I can just smuggle it straight in the garage......

Hoping to fit the can tomorrow, havnt had time yet and its a full exhaust of jobbie as I can chop the old one while its till on as right where I need to cut is nestled right next to a little cut out at the bottom of the engine and I don't really wanna be risking that haha!
