Sad news. What a legend of the small screen he was.

Adam West as Batman was a huge part of my childhood - I didn't even realise it was mostly tongue in cheek until I saw Batman as an adult. His autobiography "Back to the Batcave" was both hilarious and a window into Hollywood in the swinging sixties - it's a cracking read btw.

Adam West was the stuff of my dreams - that's a fair epitaph for anyone imho.

Thank you Adam and I hope you rest easy and peacefully.

Yeah...it was a "live-action cartoon", and very kitschy, but in a cool way.

True fact: the actor for Robin was given amphetamine to shrink his genitals so they didn't stick out in his costume.

And he had to do nearly all his own stunts as his mask didn't hide his face that well....so he also managed to do all his own injuries!!
