First gear you can make the front wheel float.. I wouldn't call it a wheelie but you can basically pin the throttle from the traffic lights and have the wheel a couple of inches off the ground.

It means not much will beat you to 40mph because you can give it everything the bike has from 0mph

But not so great in the wet. Dunlops, still earning their Dunslips nickname.

I've no idea what the mileage is like on these D222s. I'm sure they'll do for the summer and early autumn but they'll be gone by the end of September regardless of how much life is left in them.

I have a front Angel GT with plenty of tread left if you want that. The rear wouldn't unfortunately fit.

Cheers for the offer Duke but I'll stick with these. I don't want mixed tyres on the bike.

Was thinking more in terms of you only needing to buy a rear for a pair. Offer is still there if you want it.

Thanks. I'll have a look at prices for a rear.

I gave it a quick wash last night before it went in for a service. It's had 3 rainy days so far so it was covered in mud and grit.

What a pain to clean. There are loads of little surfaces and various bars and bits. When I took it out this morning it didn't look like it had been washed. Then it rained (facepalm)

I'll give it a proper wash and wax at the weekend and start putting some XCP on the exposed parts and give the bike a spray with ACF50. At least I know what is likely to weather on it.

Fog lights fitted with the top box, alarm, heated grips and they've thrown in a satnav holder. There's a 12v socket as well. I'm supposed to be getting some crash bars or bungs as well I didn't know about. The're still waiting for them.

That top box is massive. I might buy a smaller one for every day use.

They are big, I can get two helmets in mine. The first week I had the bike and all the panniers were on it still, I did a weekly grocery shop and brought it all home on the bike :D

By all accounts the can is part of the system, so it's either a complete new exhaust and header system or leave it as it is. I'm going to go with the latter.

Wish list at present is:-
hugger
larger screen
engine guard

I'm thinking about swapping the brake lines but it's ABS so that could be a PITA. I need to take a closer look at the brake set up

200 miles before the petrol light came on. I did another 10 miles to the petrol station and filled up with 17 litres, so I could have easily done another 20 or 30 miles before being worried.
