I quite like the black rubber one.

Triumph used to do a carbon one with a very faint embossed logo. Just sold one on eBay for more than I paid for it!

Yep - ive got the venture shield kit on my RC8 and had it put on the Jag too. Good stuff.

If your doing it yourself, it's best done in warmer weather - much easier.

Plain Matt carbon if you can find one.

I've ordered a pair of £20 Chinese bar end mirrors to see what they're like. I had some on my Speed Triple and they worked pretty well.

I ordered a cheap Chinese pair for the 999 and to be fair they are not bad .

The suspension needs to be set up correctly. The rear is a bit quick to bounce so the bike skips over bumps in the road.

If I get the suspension sorted hopefully that'll give me a bit more confidence in the tyres, which do seem to like to spin up when it's wet.

If it's any help, my fuel light generally comes on with the range to empty at 39 miles (I have this setting on my dash permanently as I fill up at least 3 times a week).

The range to empty goes down to 4 miles, and then after this reads as dashes. I did about another 2 miles and filled up, and still never got 17L into it.

But I don't know if the 17L figures given includes the voids that don't really fill with fuel (due to the nozzle cutting off when the level is near the neck).

I clicked it over to show the miles left and mine did the same - 39 miles to go and the light came on. I was near work and there's a petrol station not far so I filled up, but at least I know now that I've got some distance to go before I need to worry. My journey is 35 miles so I could risk doing another run.

I've also noticed that as the bike is being run in that the fuel economy is improving.

Best book it in for that first service.

just be careful of the range to empty. It does vary depending on riding style.

There's plenty of times where I have got to work with 45miles showing, then when I leave to go home after an initial spirited ride I realise I have less range then distance still to go.

With gentle riding you can really stretch the range. Cruising at 60-70 barely changes the range to empty.

On the first service they should reset the shifts light to normal rpm

I've already changed the shift lights up to 10,000. They were at 5,000 and getting on my nerves.

The buttons for the display screen aren't the easiest to get to with the mirror stem being where it is.

The bike seems to cruise really well on the motorway and A roads at about 6,000 revs. The fuel economy has been pretty good overall. I'll see how that changes when I get it back from the dealer.

First service today. The bike has got 600 miles on it. A bit more than expected but the SX has been at the dealers for over a week.

I'm still learning how to ride the bike. I'm probably slower on this than i am on the SX but time with the bike should cure that.

It's so easy to steer. I keep forgetting how little input it needs compared to the big kwak. So at present I'm not carrying enough corner speed and I'm finding myself correcting my lines.

Such a fun bike to ride though. It sounds ace on full chat.

I know you've ridden a lot of bikes, and love the 600 band. How do you find the power delivery of the trippple ?? I'm asking in general, but also with a though of looking for a new bike and being interested in how it would feel coming down from a bit v-twin..
