Looks smart. Have you taken it to work or have a day off?

4th :(

1st white bike nicked, 2nd crashed, 3rd lost the engine.

Yeah, my wife wasn't impressed when she found out the colour.

Yep, I got a cracking deal. That's the last one they've got at the dealers, hence it being white.

Fly screen, rear seat cowl, side pods, side crash protection, tail tidy, arrow can and some other little bits and pieces all thrown in for way below the RRP of £8,200. There's about £1,300 worth of bling on there.

The dealer said it's worth running it in correctly up to the first service. That's supposed to be 5,000 revs up to the 500 mile service. Nipping in and out of traffic is no problem at those revs as you've got torque to play with. But on the motorway it seemed happier cruising at slightly higher revs. Unfortunately the factory setting for the rev warning lights is at 5,000 so my dash as lit up most of the way into work.

What I will be doing is working the gearbox. I don't want to leave the bike in the same rev range for long. For a new bike the gearbox is pretty slick. The brakes are very impressive. I've not ridden it for long but I suspect that the suspension may need a little tweak to get it right for me.

Time to get some miles under my belt and get that first service out of the way.
