BT Sport Streaming

Post by Blade »

Probably a very silly question which I think I already know the answer will be YES (blush)

If I have BT TV and Broadband with the BT Sport package included can I watch Motogp on my phone or tablet when away from Home ?

I think we may have to swap from Virgin to BT when we move house and want to make sure this would be possible before switching to BT but cant find a definitive answer on the web.

Cheers for any help offered (y)

There's a BT sport app for live streaming.

You can't view live sports on the BT app when you're overseas. Something to do with licensing laws.

Same with Virgin media tbh.

Can you watch catch up abroad ? I.e. it's just live feeds which are effected by liencing laws

The BT website says :

Can I use the BT Sport App outside the UK?

You can't watch any video content on the BT Sport App when you're abroad.

However, you can use the app to get the latest news and data. Please remember that your mobile operator may charge for data usage.

If you can find a reliable VPN to the UK you might get away with it, depends on the tech they use to locate you.

be careful with the BT app too as the image for non-live events on catchup usually give away the result as well as the news on the homepage.

Good tip, thanks.

Do they have a "No Spoilers" option ? The motogp.com streaming / catchup service does but I was wanting motogp, TV, phone, WiFi etc....all in one bundle hence the BT option.

Nope, you just have to squint when you open the APP. Really poorly managed APP, but the video quality is very good when you stream it to a big screen.

Watch out with BT. I changed my broadband over to get the BT Sport for free and then they started charging me for it after 12 months into an 18 month contract.

Same happened to me, BT sport is only a 12 month contract and you have to renew it to keep it free.
