Personally I don't think I would of dropped his phone. I don't know it's personal property and yes the driver did cut him up and looked like he was swearing at rider but I think I would of played the whole don't judge a book by its cover act and was trying to help! However it amazes me how someone can forget his wallet and phone on top of the car!!!

I've lost (but lucky recovered everytime) 2 wallets and a phone all in separate occasions from leaving them on the car. The wallets were handed in to the local coppers both occasions and the phone was found through "find my iphone" and then rung to find its exact whereabouts. Nothing missing from the wallets and because I'm a muppet at the best of times, I had a good shock case on the phone so that was undamaged as well.

As it happens the phone incident was the day I met Jess. I collared her to ring my phone for me, inadvertently giving her my phone number, which she used to her advantage at a later date (blush) (inlove)

But I have also picked a box of groceries with a handbag in it off a car boot as it pulled up to an intersection while I was waiting to cross the road. I knocked on their window and thankfully encountered a very nice lady who was very grateful. But not THAT grateful if you are wondering :D

Phones, coffees, wallets, are the usual items one sees.

My niece left her baby daughter on the trunk in her carseat.

And drove off. She's not the sharpest tool in the shed.
